Description: Tomorrow (26 June) marks the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Freedom Charter. It was on this day in 1955 where South Africans of all race groups gathered in what is know as the Congress of the People in Kliptown to discuss the sort of future country they would like to see. They drew up and adopted the Freedom Charter, a document that outlined their vision of a non-racial and democratic South Africa which also called for rights, equality before the law, political rights and access to education to name a few.
