After years of debate and planning, New York City was scheduled on June 30 to implement congestion pricing for cars that enter Manhattan below 60th Street. However, last week Gov. Kathy Hochul announced she was "indefinitely pausing" the plan which would have reduced traffic, improved air quality and pedestrian safety while providing a billion dollars per year in revenue to the MTA for capital spending.
