Description: God alone is to be worshipped. We are not to worship any god other than the Lord God. Exodus 20:3-6
If we give our ancestors reverence that is due to God, or if we look to our ancestors to provide us with something that only God can give, we are practicing idolatry.
Ancestors do not mediate between God and man. God never uses the dead as mediators. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between man and God (Hebrews 2:17).
