Episode: What REALLY Happened When NC Tried to STEAL Baseball from Minnesota?
Description: THIS WAS THEN, Episode #4In the late 1990s, there was a serious push to move the Minnesota Twins baseball team to North Carolina, specifically to Charlotte or the Triad area (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem). This was driven by a desire for a new stadium and the potential for a sale to North Carolina businessman Don Beaver. However, the move was ultimately blocked due to a court order and the Twins' lease at the Metrodome. The team remains in Minnesota and has a lease at Target Field through 2039.
