DeMaurice “De” Smith is a former Executive Director of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA). In 2009, Smith was unanimously elected to lead the NFLPA, guiding the union through major labor negotiations, including the 2011 and 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreements. His tenure emphasized improved player health and safety standards, enhanced benefits for retired players and expanded licensing and business opportunities for athletes.
