Description: In Genesis, as in all of the Bible, we see that salvation is a gift of God's grace. God's gracious gift of salvation is to be received by faith alone, apart from works, law-keeping, or merit of any kind. In Genesis 15:6, righteousness is credited to Abram by faith. Abram's faith is the same kind of faith all believers share. His faith was in God's Word, in God's promise, and in God's power.
