It takes courage and strength never to give up. The eagle and the lion symbolize strength and courage in the Bible, characteristics that inspire children of God. The prophet Isaiah wrote: "They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isiah 40:31)
