Gerry nodded and took a bite of a berry herself. With the storm closing in, there was no time for small talk. The two birds sat side by side, eating the delicious berries until a boom of thunder rumbled in the distance. Gerry looked towards the clouds. “The storm is almost here,” she noted.
“Yes,” Bert agreed before taking another bite of a berry. Gerry, too, continued to eat. Another crack of thunder...
