Description: The original Old Testament law stated “and eye for an eye” so that punishments could not exceed the crime. But Jesus said that just because we can punish sin doesn’t mean that we always should. We deserve death for how we’ve offended God but instead He hands us forgiveness. We should therefore treat others in the same way we have been treated by God. Don’t give of yourself. Give of God.
