The current president of the Ayrshire Association, he's also active locally in his native Lewis County, New York. As a producer, he led his co-op negotiating a successful contract with the Kraft plant that makes Philadelphia brand cream cheese. Later, as a member of the county industrial development board, he supported the conversion of a vacant paper mill into a dairy processing facility for local producers.
