Episode: Extra Protection? Finerenone Use in Patients with Type 2 DM and CKD
Description: Despite prevention efforts, about 1 in 3 patients diagnosed with diabetes have comorbid CKD. Half of these individuals have moderate to severe disease. Unlike patients with type 1 diabetes where it develops after many years after the diagnosis, CKD is commonly present at diagnosis in patients with type 2 diabetes. While many interventions are available to prevent the progression of CKD, more are needed.
