Description: Joseph was the silent and obedient man of God who protected his family as best he could. Twice we get the same pattern. An angel tells Joseph what to do, and Joseph does it exactly as he is told. (v13-14 and v20-21). These are actually the 2nd and 3rd acts of obedience Joseph demonstrates. The first was the dream in Matthew 1 that kept the marriage together and the family Jesus would enter into.
