The White Stripes were a garage/blues-rock duo from Detroit, Michigan. The duo consists of frontman Jack Gillis (aka Jack White), and pretend sibling/real-life ex-wife Meg White on drums. They formed in 1997 but would release their debut self-titled album in 1999 after signing with Sympathy for the Record Industry.
