In the mid-1960’s Dr. Henry Lynch first described a condition characterized as the “cancer family syndrome” in which members of families demonstrated an increased risk of a variety of malignancies. This eventually became known as “Lynch Syndrome”. Lynch Syndrome is a genetic disorder and can be the underlying cause of premature colon cancer as well as other malignancies.
