Description: Listening (or the lack of) is one of the top issues we face as parents. "How do we get them to listen?" is an age old question. I believe our mental models play into this problem. Our mental models are our internalized cultural beliefs. Some mental models may include: "Children should be seen and not heard." OR "A well-behaved child equals a good parent." With these mental models we end up with frustrated adults and hurting children.
