Description: समर्थ रामदास, जन्म-नाव नारायण सूर्याजी ठोसर (२४ मार्च . १६०८, जांब, महाराष्ट्र - १३ जानेवारी. १६८१ , सज्जनगड, महाराष्ट्र), हे महाराष्ट्रातील कवी व समर्थ संप्रदायाचे संस्थापक होते.[१] रामाला व हनुमंताला उपास्य मानणाऱ्या समर्थ रामदासांनी परमार्थ, स्वधर्मनिष्ठा, राष्ट्रप्रेम यांच्या प्रसारार्थ महाराष्ट्रात प्रबोधन व संघटन केले.[२] ते संत तुकारामांचे समकालीन होते. राजकारण धर्मकारणात जाणीवपूर्वक अंतर्भूत करणारे रामदास हे एकमेव महाराष्ट्रीय संत होते.[३] पर्यावरणावर प्रबोधन आणि लिखाणही त्यांनी केले आहे.
