Description: The 1993 Long Island Rail Road shooting occurred on December 7, 1993, aboard a Long Island Rail Road train in Garden City Park, New York. As the train arrived at Merillon Avenue station, passenger Colin Ferguson began firing at other passengers with a semi-automatic pistol killing 6 and injuring 19. The trial was one of the most bizarre in history as Ferguson chose to represent himself and even questioned his victims on the stand.
