Hi there! I'm a Native English Teacher from the Unites Sates, with over 12 years of experience teaching students from all over the world. Not only a teacher, but a lover of languages, I speak 3 languages fluently and 5 languages in total. I grew up speaking English and Spanish, and after completing my studies, I decided to move to Hong Kong, where I learned Cantonese (southern Chinese) and taught English for 9 years.
In Hong Kong I taught conversational English as well as English in theater, with an emphasis on natural flowing speech and emotional expression within the dialogues, erasing those old monotone/ robotic style of speaking habits a lot of students picked up in school (no disrespect to the schools! They’ve served their purpose!) I've also taught poetry for students to balance the very technical, Left-brain dominant grammar based lesson with a more expressive, Right-brain dominant and playful form like music and poetry, and theater.
One thing that sets me apart from most English teachers is that I know what it’s like first hand to work and live in a foreign language environment as I've also performed staged dramas in Cantonese! I certainly do know what it’s like to be on stage with all eyes on you, a bunch of native speakers listening to me, who has just learned to speak it a few years ago only! It’s nerve racking at first, but then once you do it, it’s one of the most liberating things you could ever do for your speaking confidence. You really see that communication goes way beyond words! In this era more than ever, communication is key.
To me, learning a language is like a combination between singing a song, practicing a sport, and getting a new passport! It truly opens up a whole new world of opportunity and self expression. Being able to express yourself calmly, confidently, accurately and most important – creatively, this is the gift I wish to give all of my students.

Hi there! My name is Jacopo. I am TEFL-certified and have now had 3 years' experience teaching English conversation to teenagers.
🗣 I mainly focus on speaking, listening, conversational skills, and fluency. If you feel stuck in any of these, feel free to book a trial lesson with me now. We will evaluate your level, come up with a personalised study plan, and elaborate strategies together to help you feel at ease speaking English.
📝 I also routinely help students looking to get an English language certificate or to pass an exam (Cambridge B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced, IELTS, TOEFL). I can help you achieve your goals by helping you integrate best study practices, master some exam techniques, and develop time-management skills.
🧑🎓 What I especially enjoy is offering my students a direct, hands-on, immersive experience, encouraging them to use only English right from our first lesson. I mainly like to work with communicative activities to improve my students' fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, and last but not least, confidence.

Me as a Teacher
I am a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience mainly in US - NYC and UK - East Midlands. Initially as a college English and Maths teacher, these days I teach online. My learners are students who tend to improve their school grades, students who are preparing for international exams, business professionals who work or intend to work for international companies or people who learn English for pleasure. For every individual I usually prepare some tasks for a free talk, grammar practice or a role-play situation with targeting vocabulary and phrases. There is always a summary, a given feedback at the end of the class which helps my learners to make progress highly visible.
My lessons & teaching style
I believe that every learner is different and teaching them should be personalized. I like to apply different teaching methods to see which one would be the most productive. Of course, I need to meet student several times to be able to find out his/her learning style and be able to create a teaching strategy. In my experience, an individual approach, a personalized topic and mutual effort definitely bring some fruit.

CELTA qualified and IELTS Teacher certified. Teaching since 2013 and exclusively online since 2020.
I have extensive experience in coaching and business, having run my own sports coaching business for 20 years. I teach conversational English on a thematic basis (topic-related) with an emphasis on correct grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I also teach Business English (job interviews, negotiation, presentations, time management, meetings etc). I prepare students for IELTS and TOEFL exams. In every lesson, you will be encouraged to feel comfortable speaking English, whatever your level. If you really want to improve your English, or learn more about the British way of life and culture, you have come to the right place.
All my lessons are specifically tailored to the individual student's needs and interests, and we work at your pace. Most language learners are working at different levels in the four pillars of reading, writing, listening and speaking, which is why private one-to-one lessons with a patient and sympathetic teacher are so valuable. You will see an improvement in a very short time once you commit to a structured programme of learning. Homework is optional, but recommended.
I live in the South West of England, and I have a standard British accent. I speak Spanish reasonably well and a little French. I have spent 15 years learning Spanish so I know what it is like to lack confidence and to feel that you can't remember anything under pressure. But I also know what a joy it is to be able to communicate effectively. It is also why I love teaching because I meet people from all over the world and I learn so much about other cultures and countries.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking, reading, cooking and riding my motorbike!
Please note that once a trial lesson is booked, I will contact you to discuss your expectations. If there is no response, it is likely that the trial lesson will be cancelled.
I hope to meet you in the classroom soon :)

I specialise in Business English, Job Interview Preparation and Conversational Fluency. My speciality is helping business professionals express their ideas more clearly and confidently.
I am a professional and well-organized teacher who can:

✔ immediately identify problem areas in your communication that needs improvement.
✔ offer constructive feedback which helps you to improve from lesson to lesson.

Many of my students have shared their success stories after having classes with me. Some of these stories include being able to do a presentation in English for the first time, participating effectively in business meetings, closing a deal in a negotiation and passing a job interview.
Active learning 👌 (= learning by doing) is the foundation of all my classes and is the best way to improve your English level. There are NO boring lectures in my classes. Some learning activities include:
✔ Real-life simulations, scenarios, games, roleplays and case-studies to practice skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making.
✔ Mock job interviews that reflect the actual situation you will experience.
✔ Conversational English targeting skills such as opinion sharing, critical thinking, fluency building and active listening.

What started as a volunteering project in a French high school became my profession when I got my first job as an English teacher in a language school in Hungary. I gained a lot of experience there, teaching business English and everyday English courses for all levels, mostly for small groups of adults. When I started travelling, I moved on to teaching online, giving 1-to-1 lessons to adults from all over the world. Currently I am living in Italy, and while I'm working for a local language school, I keep teaching online because I travel a lot, and working remotely allows me to continue doing what I love, from anywhere in the world.
I have a Master's degree in Teaching English and a level 5 TEFL certification. I have been teaching for more than five years now, from Hungarian to French to Italian schools, as well as having students from many other nationalities through online teaching.
When you become my student I will ask about your goals, assess your level, and recommend a course book based on your level and needs. In case you would only like to practice communication or wouldn't like to learn from a book, we can also simply talk and occassionally use some worksheets to make the lessons more varied and enjoyable. All my lessons are generally very communicative – I try to stay in the background and correct you when necessary, and guide you through the exercises instead of giving you the answers. From experience I know that real learning happens when you figure things out for yourself, and not when you are passively listening for your teacher's explanations.:)

See Reviews From StudentsSome tutors on LanguaTalk may also provide in-person lessons in Limerick, but most only offer online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. Additionally, most tutors are not located in Limerick because they are living elsewhere in the world. If you book a lesson with a tutor, you should assume that the lesson will be conducted online.
If you prefer in-person lessons over online learning, LanguaTalk may not be the best fit for you. Instead, you can search for a tutor on a local service listing website or place an advertisement in your area. However, we do encourage you to try online learning – you have nothing to lose by booking a free trial session. Many students find that the online experience is just as good as in-person learning, with the added benefit of access to higher quality tutors at a lower cost.
Our research suggests that the average hourly rate for private English lessons in Limerick is between $25-$35. Since online tutors don't have to travel to you and often live in countries with a lower cost of living, their hourly rate tends to be significantly lower.
Some students might be unsure about learning English online because they think it will be very different from in-person learning. However, many students find that the online experience is similar and they often develop strong relationships with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your selected tutor, you'll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor may also share learning resources with you (such as newspaper articles or YouTube videos) and you'll be able to collaborate in real-time using tools like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
Most students take 55-minute lessons. However, some tutors also offer the option of 30-minute lessons. If this option is available, it will be noted on the tutor's profile (below their pricing and above the 'Buy Lessons' button).
In general, 55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. 30-minute lessons may be suitable if you're taking lessons for your child or if you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
LanguaTalk offers personalized 1-on-1 English lessons with top-rated tutors. Here's how to get started:
1 - Find a tutor that meets your needs by reviewing their videos, reviews, pricing, and availability.

3 - Have personalized lessons with your chosen tutor via video call. Or try a different tutor if desired.
You don't need to provide credit card information to book a free trial session. Please only book a trial if you're seriously considering taking lessons. Tutor prices vary, and you can use the filter to find one that fits your budget. You can pay for individual lessons or purchase a package for a discount (view a tutor's pricing options on their profile).
We're confident you'll enjoy learning on LanguaTalk. Our platform is trusted by students worldwide because of our transparency. We ask students to rate each lesson, and we display these ratings on tutor profiles.
99.8% of lesson ratings are 5 stars. This is because we only accept the top 10% of tutor applications, unlike other platforms.

If you're new to LanguaTalk, we'll provide you with a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If a tutor does not offer a free trial, the trial price will be 30 percent of their full lesson price, allowing you to still try a session at a reduced cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to determine if the tutor is a good fit for you and get a sense of what online learning is like. The tutor will assess your level and try to understand your needs and interests so that they can tailor any lessons you choose to take. You'll be encouraged to speak as much as possible in English, but you can also speak in English if needed.
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for 30 percent of their full lesson price.
Lessons are taught one-on-one to ensure that you receive customized instruction. During the lessons, your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including language exercises, conversation practice, and cultural notes, to help you reach your learning objectives.
All lessons take place via video call. Your tutor will normally give you a choice of calling tools, all of which are easy to use.
One of the benefits of online lessons is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, simply check their calendar to ensure that they have times that fit your schedule. Some tutors may have limited availability due to high demand.
