I’m a TEFL certified English teacher and I specialize in business English, conversational fluency, and pronunciation. I also have about 35 years’ experience in the business sector, including 25 years in education.

Learning happens in a fun and positive environment and when we experience language in different ways. I use a variety of learning methods: videos, podcasts, interesting texts, role-plays, real-life conversations and simulations. There’ll be lots of opportunities to practice – to build your speaking skills and your confidence. I’ll teach you tips and techniques that you can use, and I’ll give you practical tools to help you improve your English fluency.

Our trial lesson will be mostly conversational, where we’ll talk about your English goals and what you want to achieve. Then, I’ll create a tailored learning plan. We’ll focus on YOUR unique learning needs and I’ll work with you to help you achieve your goals.

In my spare time, I love learning Italian (Yes, I’m a student too!!), so I understand the challenges and frustrations that come with learning a language.

I have been teaching English for 12 years. I spent some time teaching in China (I can speak a tiny bit of Chinese) and now I am back to teaching online in the USA! I have taught almost every age, as well as every level. My goal is to help students find and keep that inspiration to learn English! I'm Ryan, I am a Canadian Certified English TESOL instructor.  I am a Native English speaker, currently living in Mexico.  I have taught all ages and abilities.  In the past I have taught at an English school but now I am mostly teaching online, which I enjoy al lot!  I love teaching English to beginners, intermediates and I also really look forward to helping advanced leaners prep for IELTS, CELPIP or even preparing you for your next job interview.

About me:

I’m Diana, a friendly and patient English teacher from the beautiful city of Cape Town currently living in Portugal. In 2017, I completed my TESOL and TEYLT trainings and since then I have worked with students from all around the world both in language schools and online. I have lived and taught English in 5 different countries (Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, Turkey and South Africa) to students of all levels (beginners to advanced). In 2021, I became certified to teach Ielts and have thus helped numerous students with  their exam preparations too.

I'm passionate about learning and teaching languages and have studied Portuguese, Spanish, German and Turkish. Through my own language studies, I have learnt that an active conversational approach is the best way to master a language! Some of my other passions include yoga, travel, food and art!:)

My lessons:

My approach to teaching depends a lot on the level and goals of the student. Each student is unique with different necessities so I don’t have a one size fits all proposition. Lessons are tailored to you and are adapted as you progress.Expect to receive a lot of feedback, corrections and if you would like, homework activities.

Do you need to take the IELTS exam to get into a university in an English-speaking country?  Do you need IELTS for immigration?

In my IELTS exam prep classes, you will study the actions to take to answer each task well.  Since the exam tests the four language skills, we will move between the skills as you work with each task.  You will practice listening and note taking for the reading tasks, read and speak as you pre-write for the writing tasks,  and at first read along with the listening tasks.  Practice with each skill will reinforce the others, combined with study of good sample responses.   

Come and prepare well to achieve well.  

I have five years of experience teaching adults English as a Second Language.  I know that use of the four language skills allows them to build on each other, especially for adult learners who are usually stronger in reading and writing; we can use them to strengthen your listening and speaking.   

I also have a TEFL certificate from the University of Toronto.

My name is Vicki and I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher for speakers of other languages. CELTA is the teaching certificate issued by Cambridge University. I specialize in Business and Academic English but I also can provide general English classes as well. I have been teaching for about two and a half years. I also have an academic background (a Ph.D. in Social and Political Thought and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Art History and Political Studies). My time at university has developed my understanding and use of the English language to an advanced level.  

I am a New Zealander living in Germany, and as a language learner myself (German), I know how important it is to enjoy the learning process and to feel safe to make mistakes. I am a very friendly and encouraging teacher and I strive to adapt my lessons to my students' specific needs, wants, and interests. Students that take lessons with me also gain access to the Expemo App at no extra charge, enabling them to easily practice the new vocabulary after class as well. In my lessons, I use audio clips, videos, and readings. I also use authentic materials, such as news articles. 

In addition to language lessons, I can also help with editing texts such as scripts and emails.

Please note, that while I can understand a lot of German my spoken level is B1 and my lessons are normally held completely in English.
