Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved. I specialize in teaching adults and seniors and am currently studying in a Psychology course at Yale University. I also have a CEDILS certification to teach Italian culture abroad. I have been teaching Italian and English since 2004. I work with students from diverse backgrounds and my classes are for anyone who wants to improve and deepen communication, grammar, vocabulary and reading.
I always pay attention to your needs no matter what your level is. We will work on your confidence because we are all students and I know how difficult it is when you can't find the words to express what you are thinking and feeling. My lessons are all customizable because I think every student is different and has their own personal way of learning. I will be so happy to work with you and help you reach your goals.
I am also a podcaster, the host of "Una Storia ItaliAnna," a podcast channel you can find here on LanguaTalk at the podcast page. You can also visit my YouTube channel and buy my books on Amazon to practice the Italian language.
When I am not teaching, I travel. I lived in London for a while and also in Liverpool while I was writing my dissertation. I also speak Spanish, so I am also a language student and understand very well how difficult it is to study a language.
So what are you waiting for? Book a trial lesson and we'll figure out together how I can help you!

Hi everybody!
My name is Margherita, I am from Milan, I am living in Tenerife now and I have been an Italian teacher for 7 years.
My motto is: if you are a polyglot, you can do anything!
I personally speak fluently both Spanish and English as I have worked and lived in Ireland, Australia and Bolivia, before moving to the Canarian Islands.
What do I offer to my students?
- conversation classes on any subject at any level (from 0 to C1)
- professionalism and fun (how can you learn if you are bored?)
- material adapted to your needs
- links on which keep practicing online
- the opportunity to learn Italian for pleasure, tourism or work
- fluency in Italian and in pronunciation
- comparison with English to understand the differences between the 2 languages
- a humanistic-affective approach which is student-centred
- if you want, lessons with other people
- and why not? if you want, even a friend
I graduated in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation in Milan in 2013 and afterwards I achieved the Master Itals aimed at teaching the Italian language and culture to foreigners.
I have taught Italian for four years in La Paz, Bolivia by the SOCIETà DANTE ALIGHIERI, giving classes to adults and university students, while I have taught to kids and adolescents by the Colegio Italo-Boliviano of the same city.
I returned to Italy in 2019 and I was given the opportunity to teach Italian through the Berlitz school by the Leonardo Elicotteri Company, addressing to English managers and engineers.
As regards my teaching method, the student is the centre of the learning process.
Therefore I customize my lessons considering your interests and the topics you want to talk about using different materials like videos, songs, online activities, along with written texts.
This way lessons are based especially on CONVERSATION as I think that each language's goal is to communicate.
So let's start with a talk on the trial lesson to know each other and see which goals you want to reach and by when, then together we choose the path to follow, considering your needs.

Hi, my name is Chiara and I’m from Italy, but I lived abroad for about 6 years, in the UK, in Australia, in New Zealand and in Perù.
I love traveling and meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. That’s why I decided to study languages. I am a polyglot and besides English and Italian, I can also speak Spanish, French, and German. So I know what it’s like to study a foreign language! I can teach you how to improve your speaking, and your listening, because I’ve done it myself in the first place! I also know that sometimes learning a language is not easy, but I know how you can overcome these difficulties.
My lessons vary according to the student’s needs. During our first lesson together we will decide what your goals are and what your level is. My lessons focus on conversation to give you a chance to practise what you have studied independently, and then, if needed, we can revise together some grammar points and learn some vocabulary.
My first goal is always to make the student feel comfortable in speaking another language so that they can feel confident about it and make progress more easily.
I believe the secret to learning a language is enjoying the process, having fun is the key!
I look forward to meeting you,
A presto!

I am Italian but I did my university in Scotland where I studied BA Economics. I love teaching in general and I love the contact with people: I was Italian tutor for international students, sports coach, and environmental projects assistant. I have a high sense of empathy and very good communication skills as well as listening skills. My teaching method is based on listening the needs and peculiarities of each student: some might want to focus on conversation, some on grammar, on a mix of everything, or on the preparation of a specific exam. I try to make every lesson fun and enjoyable. On top of the academic resources that I use, there are always more "informal" ones, including Italian songs, TV shows, recipes, etc... which will give you a sense of the Italian culture as well.

Hello!
My name is Ilaria and I studied International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia", but don't worry (in Italian we would say "tranquillo"), I'm 100% italian!
I have a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language (CEDILS) issued by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
My first experience in teaching Italian as a second language was in 2009 in the south of France.
Once back in Italy I began teaching Italian to foreign students at school...it was 2010.
I've been doing it since then and my students come from all over the world. Today I know for sure that is not enough to be a "native" to teach someone a language.
Grammar is often considered boring but we can't avoid learning it. Only when you know the role and function of every single word in a sentence you'll have a solid understanding that will improve your confidence in speaking a foreign language.
It's like to lay the foundations for building a house!
So, what can I do for you?
I can make my experience and knowledge available to you and make your learning process easier and faster without forgetting that it should be also pleasant and enjoyable.
If you're not a beginner we can better explore the language and see together all its nuances.
We can concentrate on lexicon, common expressions, pronunciation and much more.
I'll guide you but first of all your needs will guide me to trace the path in reaching our common objective!
Do not hesitate if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer you.
Thank you for your time!
I hope to see you soon at the trial lesson!

Teaching Italian is my passion and I love doing it online.
I am a certified CEDILS tutor and I have more than 3 years of experience. I started as a volunteer for refugee and now it is my full time job. I have experience with a lot of different students, with different backgrounds and goals.
I encourage students and I create a friendly classroom environment. I use different tools like audio, video and ebook, but I also have my own material.

If you're really not keen on learning with a teacher via video call, LanguaTalk isn't going to be the right choice for you. You can instead search for a tutor on a local service listing website, or put up an advert in your local area. We do encourage you to give it a try learning online though - you've got nothing to lose as you can book a free trial session. Most people find the experience is as good as learning face-to-face, but with the benefit of having access to better tutors at a lower cost.
Our research suggests that the average cost for private Italian lessons in Milan is somewhere between $25-$35 per hour. As online tutors do not need to travel to you and they often live in countries with a lower cost of living, the hourly cost tends to be significantly lower.
Tutors on LanguaTalk sometimes provide lessons locally, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, most tutors are not teaching Italian in Milan because they're living elsewhere in the world. If you decide to book with a tutor, you should assume that they can only teach you online.
Whether you live in the city centre or the suburbs of Milan, there are many options for learning Italian. You could use an app or a software program if you're looking to pick up basic vocabulary and learn some grammar rules. Alternatively, you could attend group lessons with Italian tutors in Milan if you're keen for a social experience. Or, you could take 1-on-1 lessons with a private tutor. This isn't the cheapest way to learn a language but it's possibly the most effective, assuming you have a good tutor. Learning online rather than face-to-face may make private tutors a more affordable option. Check the tutor profiles above to see how much it's likely to cost. Prices vary a lot depending on the tutor, but will usually be cheaper than learning with an Italian tutor in Milan, face-to-face.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning Italian online because they think it’ll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, you’ll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the ‘Buy Lessons’ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if they’re for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
New to LanguaTalk? We'll give you a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If they do not, the price will be just 30 percent of their full lesson price, so you can still try a session at minimal cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in Italian as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is quite right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for just 30 percent of their full lesson price.
On LanguaTalk, you can find exceptional tutors for 1-on-1 Italian lessons tailored to your goals and learning preferences. Here’s how to try it for yourself:
1 - Find your ideal tutor by browsing videos, reviews, pricing and availability.
2 - Book a trial. Many tutors offer a 30-minute trial for free; others charge a discounted price.
3 - Take personalised lessons with your new tutor via video call. Or try someone else.
No card is required to book a free trial session. Please only book if you're considering taking lessons. Pricing varies by tutor and you can use the filter to find someone who fits your budget. You can pay one lesson at a time, or buy in bulk for a discount (open a tutor's profile to see their pricing options).
We’re confident you’ll love learning via LanguaTalk. We're trusted by students all over the world because we're transparent. We ask students to rate each lesson, and we display reviews on tutors’ profiles.
99.8% of lesson ratings are 5 stars. Why? Because unlike other platforms, we accept only the top 10% of tutor applications.
To see our full FAQs or get help from our friendly team, click the 'Help' button in the bottom-right. You can also watch students talking about their experiences learning via LanguaTalk below.
Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutor’s full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, you’ll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever Italian tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, just check their calendar to make sure that they have available times that fit your schedule. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have a lot of students.
