A few years ago, when I was in bed at night and almost ready to sleep, I used to ask myself this question : "Why would people want to learn French? Are they crazy?"

Well... Are you? 

It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a cliché), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). Plus, French is cool and sounds fancy too, so... 😗

Bonjour, my name is Marion, I am 36 and I am French.

Being a native French speaker and fluent in English, passionate about languages and having been down the path of learning a new language myself, I understand the struggles that a new language learner might have and I know how to be successful, whatever level you decide you want to achieve. 

All the lessons are ONLINE, through Zoom (or Skype). I use various contents such as workbooks, audio documents, and videos and I am trying to keep up to date with the constant flow of new learning material to give you the best experience. I aim to make learning French as fun as possible while matching your needs and reaching your goals. After each lesson, I would send you an email with a recap of what had been covered (+ materials), what you can do at home to practise - only if you want - and what we would cover in the next lesson so you know exactly where you are at.

My background: After obtaining my Baccalauréat in Economic and Social Sciences, I studied for 5 years to become an osteopath in France. In 2016 I left my home country to spend one year working and travelling in New Zealand. I spent another two years in Australia and in 2019 I decided to move to the UK.

I’ve been a professional French teacher since 2007. I taught French in various language schools, for big companies and at university. Since 2020, I’ve been teaching exclusively online. These experiences have allowed me to be in contact with different types of students, from children to adults, from beginner to proficiency, for leisure or business purposes or to prepare for the official French certifications (I’m also a DELF examiner). I hold degrees in French Literature, Philosophy, and History from Université Paris 10, along with a Master of Science in Global Change Management from HNE Eberswalde.

Before settling in São Paulo, Brazil, I lived and worked in Berlin for five years, where I began teaching languages through private tutoring and literacy classes for young refugees. In 2017, I completed a French language teaching certification and went on to teach at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.
