I’m a TEFL certified English teacher and I specialize in business English, conversational fluency, and pronunciation. I also have about 35 years’ experience in the business sector, including 25 years in education.

Learning happens in a fun and positive environment and when we experience language in different ways. I use a variety of learning methods: videos, podcasts, interesting texts, role-plays, real-life conversations and simulations. There’ll be lots of opportunities to practice – to build your speaking skills and your confidence. I’ll teach you tips and techniques that you can use, and I’ll give you practical tools to help you improve your English fluency.

Our trial lesson will be mostly conversational, where we’ll talk about your English goals and what you want to achieve. Then, I’ll create a tailored learning plan. We’ll focus on YOUR unique learning needs and I’ll work with you to help you achieve your goals.

In my spare time, I love learning Italian (Yes, I’m a student too!!), so I understand the challenges and frustrations that come with learning a language.

Hello, my name is Nicoletta and I am a certified native English tutor from the small island of Cyprus. However, both my parents have British roots and I have grown up speaking English as my primary language. As a person who has always been interested in other countries and cultures, I have embarked on learning new languages myself in the last few years. Most recently Korean! Doing this, I realised how important it is to have someone guide you and support you on your language learning journey. My name is Vicki and I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher for speakers of other languages. CELTA is the teaching certificate issued by Cambridge University. I specialize in Business and Academic English but I also teach general English classes as well. I have been teaching both group and private lessons for about two and a half years. I have an academic background (a Ph.D. in Social and Political Thought and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Art History and Political Studies). My time at university has developed my understanding and use of the English language to an advanced level. I have taught students from all over the world and of all ages. I highly enjoy getting to know people from all around the world. 

I am a New Zealander living in Germany, and as a language learner myself (German and Maori), I know how important it is to enjoy the learning process and to feel safe to make mistakes. I am a very friendly and encouraging teacher and I strive to adapt my lessons to my students' specific needs, wants, and interests. I am also always upskilling as a teacher, participating in webinars and further training opportunities whenever possible in order to learn new teaching techniques. 

Students that take lessons with me also gain access to the Expemo App at no extra charge, enabling them to easily practice the new vocabulary after class as well. In my lessons, I use audio clips, videos, and readings. I also use authentic materials, such as news articles. You are also welcome to bring your own material to class to work on - for example an email you are preparing for work. 

In addition to language lessons, I can also help with editing texts such as scripts and emails.

Please note, that while I can understand a lot of German my spoken level is B1.

I have been teaching English for 12 years. I spent some time teaching in China (I can speak a tiny bit of Chinese) and now I am back to teaching online in the USA! I have taught almost every age, as well as every level. My goal is to help students find and keep that inspiration to learn English! What started as a volunteering project in a French high school became my profession when I got my first job as an English teacher in a language school in Hungary. I gained a lot of experience there, teaching business English and everyday English courses for all levels, mostly for small groups of adults. When I started travelling, I moved on to teaching online, giving 1-to-1 lessons to adults from all over the world. Currently I am living in Italy, and while I'm working for a local language school, I keep teaching online because I travel a lot, and working remotely allows me to continue doing what I love, from anywhere in the world.

I have a Master's degree in Teaching English and a level 5 TEFL certification. I have been teaching for more than five years now, from Hungarian to French to Italian schools, as well as having students from many other nationalities through online teaching.

When you become my student I will ask about your goals, assess your level, and recommend a course book based on your level and needs. In case you would only like to practice communication or wouldn't like to learn from a book, we can also simply talk and occassionally use some worksheets to make the lessons more varied and enjoyable. All my lessons are generally very communicative – I try to stay in the background and correct you when necessary, and guide you through the exercises instead of giving you the answers. From experience I know that real learning happens when you figure things out for yourself, and not when you are passively listening for your teacher's explanations.:)
