My name is Lizzy and I am a professional English teacher dedicated to helping you achieve your language goals.

I will give you tips to improve your grammar and language skills, and provide regular homework to support your language learning. Hi, I’m Jocelyn. I’m an Architecture student from Bristol, and I go to Cardiff University. I was previously volunteering as an English teacher at a Bilingual Academy, on my year out living abroad in Seville, and I also completed an Architecture Internship when I was there. For the last two years, I’ve been tutoring students of all ages. These have ranged from pupils preparing for curriculum exams, to learning English as their second language.

I have always made sure to be sympathetic to students' situations, and am flexible with lesson lengths and times. I make every effort to accommodate your needs and targets as a student, to ensure we approach the lesson in a way that works best for you. My aim is to facilitate your learning development with interactive lessons that you can fit into your schedule, without making you feel overloaded.

Having a family background in education has inspired me to gain my TEFL qualification, which has given me the knowledge to be able to teach a range of lessons within the subject of English. These include: Business English for a workplace setting, conversational English, grammar and preparing for curriculum exams, to name just a few.

Me as a Teacher
I am a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience mainly in US - NYC and UK - East Midlands. Initially as a college English and Maths teacher, these days I teach online. My learners are students who tend to improve their school grades, students who are preparing for international exams, business professionals who work or intend to work for international companies or people who learn English for pleasure.  For every individual I usually prepare some tasks for a free talk, grammar practice or a role-play situation with targeting vocabulary and phrases. There is always a summary, a given feedback at the end of the class which helps my learners to make progress highly visible.

I believe that every learner is different and teaching them should be personalized. I like to apply different teaching methods to see which one would be the most productive. Of course, I need to meet student several times to be able to find out his/her learning style and be able to create a teaching strategy. In my experience, an individual approach, a personalized topic and mutual effort definitely bring some fruit.
