I'm Sara and I'm an Italian teacher with more than 8 years experience teaching this wonderful language!

I began teaching when I was studying my Bachelor's degree (che bei tempi!) ... I started almost as a joke but I realized soon that I actually liked this profession and, after so many years, I still feel the same!

Throughout the years I had the opportunity to work with a variety of students and each of them taught me a lot: every teaching experience is unique and this is why I love it.

That being said, maybe you would like to know something more about how I work.

I usually offer a free trial lesson, where I like to get to know my students better and understand their needs, goals and interests.

This helps me not only to build a tailor made learning path, which is shared and discussed with the student, but also to select the material and the topics that best suit each person.

If I had to choose my strongest point, I would definitely say that it is the kind of relationship I establish with my students: open and informal to make learning easier and to fully enjoy the experience.

With over a decade of experience, I've had the pleasure of teaching Italian to passionate learners from all around the world. From Tokyo to Moscow, to my time at the prestigious "Istituto Venezia" in enchanting Venice, I've refined my expertise in delivering exceptional Italian classes for both beginners and advanced learners.

My teaching approach revolves around fostering communication and immersing you in real-life situations. We won't simply focus on memorizing words; instead, we'll dive into authentic conversations and help you conquer the question of "what do I say in this situation?"

If you're starting from scratch, fret not! My teaching approach ensures that you won't be thrown into speaking Italian right away. Instead, we'll embark on a journey where you'll gradually build a solid foundation in the language, developing your listening and reading skills.

In my lessons, I prioritize creating a grammar-light environment while emphasizing immersion and conversation. However, I recognize the challenges posed by certain grammatical concepts. Therefore, I'm ready to switch to English whenever needed, offering clear explanations for complex grammar topics.

But that's not all: as a pronunciation coach, I hold the key to helping you shed your mother-tongue accent and embrace the melodic sounds of Italian. By mastering the subtle nuances of Italian intonation and pronunciation, we'll unlock the full potential of your language skills.

My teaching style and lessons vary depending on the requirements and goals of the student. Every person is different and requires different approaches. I am open to every method I can find to improve your Italian in the most efficient way.

We can have conversations about anything you are passionate about. We can analyse an article, describe movies and TV Shows you like, write and expose stories to strengthen your grammar, understand songs, videos and podcasts. My lessons will vary from conversation, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. When you will be ready, we can explore common expressions and colloquial Italian!

If you're just starting and you don't know many Italian words, don't worry! In the beginning, we can speak English. Later, we are going to speak only in Italian!

I am a native Italian teacher specialized in tutoring Italian for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. I have been working since 2016 for several agencies and for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London teaching Italian from scratch. I am also a CILS tutor and exam administrator.

I hold a Bachelor in Linguistics and Italian as a second language and also worked for the publishing of an Italian Collocations Dictionary for Italian learners.

My objective is to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed. I also like to keep lessons engaging, fun and fresh. My students say I am patient and friendly: I do think it is very important to feel safe and supported when learning a new language. My name is Ilaria and I studied International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia", but don't worry (in Italian we would say "tranquillo"), I'm 100% italian!

I have a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language (CEDILS) issued by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

My first experience in teaching Italian as a second language was in 2009 in the south of France.

Once back in Italy I began teaching Italian to foreign students at school...it was 2010.

I've been doing it since then and my students come from all over the world. Today I know for sure that is not enough to be a "native" to teach someone a language.

Grammar is often considered boring but we can't avoid learning it. Only when you know the role and function of every single word in a sentence you'll have a solid understanding that will improve your confidence in speaking a foreign language.  

It's like to lay the foundations for building a house!

I can make my experience and knowledge available to you and make your learning process easier and faster without forgetting that it should be also pleasant and enjoyable.

If you're not a beginner we can better explore the language and see together all its nuances.

We can concentrate on lexicon, common expressions, pronunciation and much more.

Hi, I'm Cristina from Italy!

I studied Foreign languages and Linguistics and I'm here to help you learn and discover the beauties of the Italian language. My lessons are mainly focused on grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pronunciation. My approach to teaching depends on the level and goals of the student. Not only will we learn grammar and new words but we will also pay attention to the correct pronunciation (I have a standard pronunciation so you can easily learn the standard variety of Italian)  : the student will be given some exercises to practise their pronunciation (tongue twisters are great to practise the difficult sounds of a foreign language!). Moreover, we will develop the four language skills ( speaking, writing, listening and reading) through constant and gradual training. 

With more advanced students, it can be great to have conversational lessons. Since I'm a very curious person (I'm very passionate about Science, Art and sport) we may talk about any topic you are interested in.

With me, you can improve your conversational Italian. I have more than 6 years of experience tutoring students with different levels of Italian. Some of them were beginners when they started and they managed to reach a good level of Italian after a few months. I also helped more experienced students with their university exams or thesis. So, even if my classes here focus more on spoken Italian when there is a need, we can improve your written and academic Italian.

Hi! thanks for visiting my page! I am a professional English and Italian language teacher with over 7 years' experience teaching students from all around the world. I am very creative and curious, always excited about meeting new students and engage in interesting conversations. I always try to design a lesson around the learner's needs and focus on the areas to improve. I am very passionate about languages but I also love writing fiction, painting and playing the guitar. I am interested in various subjects from art to politics, from cinema to sport and culture.

I believe teaching should be fun, stimulating and inspiring. I plan my lessons in order to offer a variety of creative and exciting activities, a perfect balance of conversation, writing and listening. I also believe that the student should be made comfortable in order to express themselves and gain confidence with their spoken fluency.
