Ciao! My name is Mauro, I am native Italian from Calabria! I studied International Relations at Bologna University, then I moved to Padua, for a PhD in History of Political Thought. I currently live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I love running, Mozart, tango (I'm trying to improve my dancing abilities...), cook, and culture.
I am a very passionate teacher, I love to share my language and my knowledge about Italy, and its culture, films, music, literature, arts, food!!! I firmly believe that learning is based on trust between teacher and student, and the first objective of my classes is to individuate student's objectives and preferences.
My teaching methodology is integrated: I think that it is important to work on all of linguistic abilities: oral and writing comprehension and production. I also think that lessons must be as much as fun as possible, and I use a lot of authentic material: songs, films, cooking recipes, newspapers, advertising and so on...

My name is Giusy, I'm a native italian speaker. I've been learning multiple languages for many years now and it is something I am extremely passionate about, which means that I know how difficult it is to learn a language, especially if you are nervous or worried about making mistakes. As your community tutor, I will make sure to keep the conversation fun and easy so you always feel comfortable and relaxed during a lesson. My teaching style is informal and friendly, you will learn new vocabulary and improve your pronounciation while discussing our goals, hobbies and passions. We will focus on creating the perfect balance between the four key aspects of learning a language: speaking, listening, writing and reading, using a range of digital resources to keep the lesson fun and interesting.

My teaching approach relies on practice and immersion in the language, through conversation and consumption of multiple medias (music, movies, books).
My main focus is making my students able to communicate and interact as soon as possible, so that they can enjoy their language-learning journey instead of just studying and waiting for a long time before they can actually use what they learned.
During our encounters we will talk, write and practice, intertwining the formal learning of grammar and vocabulary with the more entertaining usage of each skill you will acquire.
No matter the level you begin with, from first basic interactions to formal high-level discussions, we can work together to improve your skills and proficiency.
I am skilled and professional, but also flexible and easy-going.
My interests are mainly of the nerd-ish persuasion, such as fantasy and sci-fi novels, movies and series, boardgames, RPGs and suchlike.
I love learning new things and discovering old classics with my friends and my students, and this is mainly why I got my degree in philosophy and studied many different topics on my own.

Ciao!
I am a native Italian teacher specialized in tutoring Italian for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. I have been working since 2016 for several agencies and for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London teaching Italian from scratch. I am also a CILS tutor and exam administrator.
I hold a Bachelor in Linguistics and Italian as a second language and also worked for the publishing of an Italian Collocations Dictionary for Italian learners.
My objective is to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed. I also like to keep lessons engaging, fun and fresh. My students say I am patient and friendly: I do think it is very important to feel safe and supported when learning a new language. So if you want to immerse yourself in the Italian culture and language but find it hard to attend a scheduled group class, or if you want to focus on specific topics or aspects and get faster progress through individual lessons, contact me to get the most suitable 1-to-1 plan for you.
*Please note: I have a Zoom Pro plan. Zoom is in my opinion the best tool for online lessons, and my paid account allows all features, with no time limit on calls. Feel free to select Zoom as your preferred tool when booking: I am the host so you do not have to pay anything to join my meeting.

Hello everyone and welcome to my profile.
My name is Antonello and I am a native Italian speaker excited to immerse myself in this new platform.
I have a degree in foreign languages from the University of Bari, a charming city in southern Italy. Languages are a real passion for me - especially Spanish - and I would like to transmit this passion to you with regard to the Italian language and foreign languages as well.
I am a guy who loves meeting new people and new cultures. In fact, in the past, I have worked in the front office, such as in reception - the job I like most.
I love dialectics, grammar and dialogue and I believe that communication should not be a mere exchange of information, but a constant flow of thoughts, ideas and facts between people who are willing to say, but above all to listen.
I like to set up interactive lessons so that the student is an active part of the lesson till he/she becomes the focus of the lesson itself.
I am an energetic person with a constant desire to get involved. That is why I ensure to do my best to discover your personal story and skills.
You can love or hate languages and I love them. What about you? Let's find out together!

Hello there!
My name is Elena, I'm a native and CLTA qualified Italian teacher with MD in Italian Linguistics and 10 years of teaching experience in Copenhagen, London and Barcelona. Studying and teaching languages has always been a great passion for me, and I do my best to bring this enthusiasm into my work! Whatever your reasons to study Italian, I’ll prepare the best possible bespoke material for you! Besides, you’ll get to speak right away, from Lesson 1!
There's more: how would you ask a platypus if they feel more like a ducky ferret or a furry duck? In Italian. I'm ready to bet a Spritz no teacher has ever asked you that! Or anybody else ever, for all that matters. But they should! Let me explain: everybody knows how to order in a restaurant or ask for directions but it’s when you step out of the safe path that your brain really starts to learn faster.
For one thing, you won't feel the pressure to look smart in front of your teacher. C'mon, they just asked you to speak Italian with a platypus, are you really worried about bad impressions? For another, you’ll have to work with your own resources to deal with a new situation. Which comes very handy when you speak with natives. (Natives always have this bad habit of saying a lot more things than what's in your handbook, and they never seem to ask you the questions you know how to answer...) So, why don't you give it a try? ;)
Available for lessons on Zoom, Skype and Google Meet.

With over a decade of experience, I've had the pleasure of teaching Italian to passionate learners from all around the world. From Tokyo to Moscow, to my time at the prestigious "Istituto Venezia" in enchanting Venice, I've refined my expertise in delivering exceptional Italian classes for both beginners and advanced learners.
My teaching approach revolves around fostering communication and immersing you in real-life situations. We won't simply focus on memorizing words; instead, we'll dive into authentic conversations and help you conquer the question of "what do I say in this situation?"
If you're starting from scratch, fret not! My teaching approach ensures that you won't be thrown into speaking Italian right away. Instead, we'll embark on a journey where you'll gradually build a solid foundation in the language, developing your listening and reading skills.
In my lessons, I prioritize creating a grammar-light environment while emphasizing immersion and conversation. However, I recognize the challenges posed by certain grammatical concepts. Therefore, I'm ready to switch to English whenever needed, offering clear explanations for complex grammar topics.
But that's not all: as a pronunciation coach, I hold the key to helping you shed your mother-tongue accent and embrace the melodic sounds of Italian. By mastering the subtle nuances of Italian intonation and pronunciation, we'll unlock the full potential of your language skills.
Join me on this awesome language-learning adventure! Together, we'll make Italian an integral part of your life, revealing the richness of its culture and the joy of connecting with its people.

See Reviews From StudentsTutors on LanguaTalk sometimes provide lessons locally, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, most tutors are not teaching Italian in Wollongong because they're living elsewhere in the world. If you decide to book with a tutor, you should assume that they can only teach you online.
If you're really not keen on learning with a teacher via video call, LanguaTalk isn't going to be the right choice for you. You can instead search for a tutor on a local service listing website, or put up an advert in your local area. We do encourage you to give it a try learning online though - you've got nothing to lose as you can book a free trial session. Most people find the experience is as good as learning face-to-face, but with the benefit of having access to better tutors at a lower cost.
Our research suggests that the average cost for private Italian lessons in Wollongong is somewhere between $25-$35 per hour. As online tutors do not need to travel to you and they often live in countries with a lower cost of living, the hourly cost tends to be significantly lower.
Whether you live in the city centre or the suburbs of Wollongong, there are many options for learning Italian. You could use an app or a software program if you're looking to pick up basic vocabulary and learn some grammar rules. Alternatively, you could attend group lessons with Italian tutors in Wollongong if you're keen for a social experience. Or, you could take 1-on-1 lessons with a private tutor. This isn't the cheapest way to learn a language but it's possibly the most effective, assuming you have a good tutor. Learning online rather than face-to-face may make private tutors a more affordable option. Check the tutor profiles above to see how much it's likely to cost. Prices vary a lot depending on the tutor, but will usually be cheaper than learning with an Italian tutor in Wollongong, face-to-face.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning Italian online because they think it’ll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
New to LanguaTalk? We'll give you a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If they do not, the price will be just 30 percent of their full lesson price, so you can still try a session at minimal cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in Italian as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is quite right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for just 30 percent of their full lesson price.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, just check their calendar to make sure that they have available times that fit your schedule. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have a lot of students.

Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutor’s full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, you’ll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever Italian tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, you’ll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the ‘Buy Lessons’ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if they’re for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
