Ciao! My name is Silvana and I have been teaching Italian at all levels for over 10 years.  

Since I was a child, I have had a great passion for foreign languages and the different cultures of the world. This passion has helped me in my many travels and cultural interactions with people from all over the world.

I worked for many years in the tourism industry and I have many hobbies and interests. I like reading, art, cooking (Italian food, of course!), music, sports, cinema, trekking, holistic therapies and much more!  

I love my language and I love to teach it! I teach Italian to adults and children, from beginner to proficiency level, in a simple and engaging way. Every lesson is personalized, using different material (books, articles, videos, audios, games, etc.). My motto is: "learning Italian is fun!"

I have a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature (specialising in American studies) at the University Institute "L'Orientale" in Naples and I hold a post-graduate Masters degree in "Didactic methodologies for teaching Italian to foreigners - Teaching Italian as a foreign language/second language".

 My lessons are engaging and never boring. I use different teaching materials for different levels and, in class,I cover all the different learning skills of a language (speaking, listening, writing and reading).

I like to focus on practical conversations and on the real use of the real italian in everyday context. Grammar is always explained in context. I find excercises and quiz games a very useful and practical way to memorize rules and vocabulary. In my lessons I also cover cultural aspects and curiosities about Italy (food, art, cinema, traditions, etc.). 

I can also teach you some Neapolitan dialect as I come from the region Campania.

My teaching style and lessons vary depending on the requirements and goals of the student. Every person is different and requires different approaches. I am open to every method I can find to improve your Italian in the most efficient way.

We can have conversations about anything you are passionate about. We can analyse an article, describe movies and TV Shows you like, write and expose stories to strengthen your grammar, understand songs, videos and podcasts. My lessons will vary from conversation, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. When you will be ready, we can explore common expressions and colloquial Italian!

If you're just starting and you don't know many Italian words, don't worry! In the beginning, we can speak English. Later, we are going to speak only in Italian!

Hi, I'm a native Italian teacher living in Salerno, a little city in the south of Italy near the Amalfi Coast.

I have been studying English and Spanish, so I know from experience that learning a language takes time and dedication. My aim is to make this process as pleasant and fun as possible. 

I deal with many students around the world by giving language lessons, both in person, in Italian language schools, and online.

My passion for languages and my studies brought me to understand that languages are not just simple codes ruled by grammar norms, but that they are actually used to express ourselves as individuals with different backgrounds and cultures.

Lessons will focus primarily on the conversational aspect of the language by using textbooks and materials (e.g. PDFs, audiofiles, Googledocs) that I use in language schools in Italy.

Since I have the DITALS certification, I can help you pass CELI, PLIDA and CILS exams.

Flexibility will be guaranteed according to the student. All students will be asked to take a placement test that they will have to submit at least 3 days before the first lesson. We will be discussing the results during the fist lesson and then decide how to work together.

Since I also work in language schools, I strongly recommend booking in advance so I can arrange my agenda.

Pleased to meet you! I am Grazia and I have been teaching Italian to foreigners for more than ten years! I have a great passion for this job and I am always very happy to meet new students and get in touch with their world! My method is based first of all on listening and understanding the needs and attitudes of each student, and in this way I try to offer lessons that are... 'tailor-made'! I believe that grammar is important, but I also always give a lot of space to conversation, communication and fun. The tools I use for my lessons vary greatly: from grammar review sheets to poems, songs, videos... anything that I find stimulating can become a very good working tool! Since obtaining the DITALS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, I have taught both in Italy and abroad, to students of all ages and in both individual and group lessons.  One aspect of this work that I find very important (and really valuable!) is building a relationship with the students. 

After all, teaching allows me to bring together my two greatest passions: the Italian language and... people, from all over the world.

About me — My name’s Filippo. I’m a native speaker of Italian and live in Rome. I hold the DITALS I certificate, i.e., the license for the Teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena. I can also speak English and am very fond of British English phonology. I have two degrees, one in philosophy and the other in religious studies, and taught in secondary schools in Rome for 21 years. I mainly speak standard Italian or, as linguists would say, “Tuscan Italian as spoken by Roman citizens”, i.e., the Italian language as historically spoken in Florence, without its peculiar local features.

My lessons (a broad overview) — If you’re already attending an Italian language course or are a self-taught student, I'll be your go-to person for any further explanations and corrections, as complement to your personal journey to learning Italian. I can also provide topic-focused speaking classes on topics of your choice or mutual agreement, as well as offering help for exams preparation for language certificates of all levels (A1 – C2). If, on the contrary, you're looking for more structured classes as part of a broader and comprehensive Italian language course, I'll be very happy to guide you and provide you with all the necessary relevant materials.

My topic-focused speaking classes (a specific example) — At latest one day before class, I'll send you a list of key words and expressions that will help you prepare for the topic of conversation. We’ll always start our lessons by describing, analyzing and contrasting visual inputs (images and photos) in order to develop your communication skills. We will also look at one or two texts on the topic in order to enrich the specific vocabulary in use and the conversation itself. Infographics, as well as quotes from some personalities who have expressed their view on the topic, are also integral parts of the lessons. During the conversation I'll assess your oral production (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar) and you'll receive my feedback to help you progress in this area.

I’m a native Italian from sunny southern Italy and I hold a Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and Ditals II Level (Certificate of advanced skills in Teaching Italian to Foreigners). I am also a CILS Certification examiner 

I have students of all ages and I travel very often to prepare them for Italian language proficiency certifications (Cils, Celi, Roma 3) for exams and B1 Certificate for Italian Citizenship.

Although I specialize in teaching Italian phonetics to foreigners, especially English, Spanish, and Portuguese students, I always adapt my lessons to your level (A1-C1) and goals.
In the first free lesson, I will give you feedback about your level of Italian and ask you about your objectives and motivations.
Then, after understanding your level, I will create a plan to make your language learning fun and efficient and share it with you.
In particular, if your main aim is only to learn the Italian language, we can focus on all the aspects of the language (grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Instead, if you need to learn more about Italian culture, we will discuss history and traditions while learning the language.

I am very fond of Italian culture and I love to spread it all over the world. To know "Italy" is not only about visiting the cities of Milan, Florence or Venice. Italy is much more.
It is experiencing the calm of the Alps, hiking the Dolomites, eating Neapolitan street food, and being charmed by the Sardinian or Apulian transparent sea.
It is discovering Sicilian ways of life, hiking Mount Etna (Europe's largest active volcano), its widespread Bronte pistachio, and wines, both of them grown on volcanic soil.
But, first of all, it is a land of contrasts, which can be clearly understood only if you visit both northern and southern Italy, by getting in touch with the locals and their ways of life.

Ciao! I like to think that every student of mine was a challenge in a peculiar way. I have worked with European students abroad, retired professionals, University students in Asia, company employees and teenagers: every time I have found the best way to have fun both, taking advantage of any opportunity to understand  my language and my culture! 

I'm currently working as an online tutor with beginners, mainly from English speaking countries, who are generally not familiar with the language learning process. I usually help them to get some confidence in facing basic conversations as tourists in the country. I like to engage a fun conversation about different topics like my country's culture, Italian modern literature, art and cinema history due to my solid background in these disciplines. I am also a very curious person, keen to explore new topics, so much that I had eventually supported my students'interests through language practice (for example: reading Italian sport magazines together or watching videos about Italian cuisine).
