Hello from Los Angeles! My name is Sean and I am both a TEFL-certified English teacher, and a Lean Six Sigma-certified project manager with a business background in IT, analytics, and recruiting. I'm also a language learner just like you (Spanish B2 and German B1), so I know the joys and challenges of learning and improving a second language very well. Hi there! I'm a Native English Teacher from the Unites Sates, with over 12 years of experience teaching students from all over the world. Not only a teacher, but a lover of languages, I speak 3 languages fluently and 5 languages in total. I grew up speaking English and Spanish, and after completing my studies, I decided to move to Hong Kong, where I learned Cantonese (southern Chinese) and taught English for 9 years.

In Hong Kong I taught conversational English as well as English in theater, with an emphasis on natural flowing speech and emotional expression within the dialogues, erasing those old monotone/ robotic style of speaking habits a lot of students picked up in school (no disrespect to the schools! They’ve served their purpose!) I've also taught poetry for students to balance the very technical, Left-brain dominant grammar based lesson with a more expressive, Right-brain dominant and playful form like music and poetry, and theater.

One thing that sets me apart from most English teachers is that I know what it’s like first hand to work and live in a foreign language environment as I've also performed staged dramas in Cantonese! I certainly do know what it’s like to be on stage with all eyes on you, a bunch of native speakers listening to me, who has just learned to speak it a few years ago only! It’s nerve racking at first, but then once you do it, it’s one of the most liberating things you could ever do for your speaking confidence. You really see that communication goes way beyond words! My name is Andromeda and I am a CELTA qualified English language teacher from London, England. I have taught English for the past 13 years in academies, businesses and online.

I specialise in Business English providing you with the language points you need to express yourself effectively in meetings, give fantastic presentations, conduct job interviews as well as other functions such as negotiation, describing charts and forecasting.

I practice a teaching method called oral agility whereby all grammar and vocabulary are taught through speaking exercises. This means modelling words, repeating phrases and conversation exercises.

Classes with me are fun and dynamic and above all, you will see rapid progress with your English because you will be constantly speaking.

NOTE: I believe in giving students the best experience for their money and so if you book at 55-minute class, that class will be a full hour (60 minutes) and not 55 minutes.

I live in the South West of England, and I have a standard British accent. I speak Spanish reasonably well and a little French. I have spent 14 years learning Spanish so I know what it is like to lack confidence and to feel that you can't remember anything under pressure. But I also know what a joy it is to be able to communicate effectively.  It is also why I love teaching because I meet people from all over the world and I learn so much about other cultures and countries.

Hi, I’m Rob, a native English speaking teacher from Canada currently living in Prague, Czech Republic, with 20 years of ESL and university teaching experience. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, including fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading.

My teaching style is relaxed, friendly, and engaging—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students mainly enjoy having conversation, but I also often use videos and texts of various kinds and even songs to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and lessons are individually designed to each student’s level, interests, and requirements.

I’ve taught English in Vietnam and Czech Republic since 2016 and also have 12 years of Canadian university teaching experience in cultural history and in architecture/design. I’m also a writer-artist-designer. I received a professional architecture degree in 1989 and the Trinity College Level 5 English teaching certification in 2019. I’m a native English speaker with an easy-to-understand, neutral Canadian accent.

For the last 2 years, most of my English teaching has been online, though I also enjoy teaching non-virtually. I primarily use and recommend the Zoom platform for online teaching for its reliability, video/sound quality, and support for varieties of teaching resources. Students can use Zoom from their browser or by downloading the app on your computer or phone/tablet (but use of the app on your computer is recommended for the best quality).

I completed my TEFL in Asia and have over 6 years teaching experience with kids and adults from a combination of working in schools and online. My students tell me I have a clear and neutral accent that is easy to understand. They often comment on my relaxed and fun energy in my lessons. 

When working with children I create vibrant and interactive lessons that include phonics, writing & reading. After each class a worksheet or activity can be given. When working with adults I also like to create fun lessons. Learning grammar is stressful and I like to focus more on conversation and simplified explanations. We learn about phrasal verbs, idioms and lots of other things a new learner should need to be able to understand and speak like a native. 

As a teacher I believe it is important to make the students feel comfortable and give them a safe space to learn and not to be afraid to make mistakes. Learning a new language is not easy it takes time and dedication, I understand this and try to build the students confidence as much as possible.
