Hi. I am Chris and I’m a qualified and experienced teacher of English as a foreign language and a native speaker of British English. I have taken more than 6000 lessons online and have many regular students. I am very patient and passionate about the English language. My relaxed lesson style will boost your confidence, make you feel less nervous and enable you to improve your English skills by helping you sound more natural.

My lessons will help you achieve your goal of being fluent, reaching proficiency level, reducing your accent, sounding more natural and improving your vocabulary through stimulating conversation on a wide range of topics. Exam technique is as important as ability when taking IELTS or Cambridge exams, I can help you raise your score. My lesson style is relaxed and informal, I will help you feel more confident and less nervous when speaking. I allow students to speak as much as possible but I also listen very attentively for grammar and pronunciation errors and will help you to reduce mistakes through clear explanation and example sentences.

I am flexible about the content of the lessons and try to structure them according to YOUR needs. I will initially assess your level, and focus on reducing weaknesses so that you can see a clear improvement in your level and self confidence. Technique is vital to pass standard exams like IELTS and Cambridge. Hello, my name is Nicoletta and I am a certified native English tutor from the small island of Cyprus. However, both my parents have British roots and I have grown up speaking English as my primary language. As a person who has always been interested in other countries and cultures, I have embarked on learning new languages myself in the last few years. Most recently Korean! Doing this, I realised how important it is to have someone guide you and support you on your language learning journey. I hope to be that person for you, to aid you and support you with your experience of the English language.

My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Psychology in Education. I also have 3 TEFL certifications (120-hour Premier course, Exam preparation, and Business English).

Hello! I'm Julian. I am from South Africa. I have a 420-hour TEFL Diploma (Level 5) which is equivalent to a CELTA-qualification. About me:

I’m Diana, a friendly and patient English teacher from the beautiful city of Cape Town currently living in Portugal. In 2017, I completed my TESOL and TEYLT trainings and since then I have worked with students from all around the world both in language schools and online. I have lived and taught English in 5 different countries (Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, Turkey and South Africa) to students of all levels (beginners to advanced). In 2021, I became certified to teach Ielts and have thus helped numerous students with  their exam preparations too.

I'm passionate about learning and teaching languages and have studied Portuguese, Spanish, German and Turkish. Through my own language studies, I have learnt that an active conversational approach is the best way to master a language! Some of my other passions include yoga, travel, food and art!:)

My lessons:

My approach to teaching depends a lot on the level and goals of the student. Each student is unique with different necessities so I don’t have a one size fits all proposition. Lessons are tailored to you and are adapted as you progress.Expect to receive a lot of feedback, corrections and if you would like, homework activities.

Me as a Teacher
I am a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience mainly in US - NYC and UK - East Midlands. Initially as a college English and Maths teacher, these days I teach online. My learners are students who tend to improve their school grades, students who are preparing for international exams, business professionals who work or intend to work for international companies or people who learn English for pleasure.  For every individual I usually prepare some tasks for a free talk, grammar practice or a role-play situation with targeting vocabulary and phrases. There is always a summary, a given feedback at the end of the class which helps my learners to make progress highly visible.

My lessons & teaching style

I believe that every learner is different and teaching them should be personalized. I like to apply different teaching methods to see which one would be the most productive. Of course, I need to meet student several times to be able to find out his/her learning style and be able to create a teaching strategy. In my experience, an individual approach, a personalized topic and mutual effort definitely bring some fruit.

Hi, I am Harriet, a native English speaker and qualified teacher with over 20 years teaching experience.

The lessons are structured around you as an individual and start with finding out what you want to learn or improve and why. We will then agree a plan of interesting and challenging activities to help you meet your goals. I teach general conversation skills, including increasing confidence, and learning new vocabulary and Business English. I have helped many students successfully prepare for job interviews or to take on new roles. I can also help you prepare for language tests and focus on pronunciation.

The lessons will be lively and varied, using a range of methods, materials and contexts. We will regularly review your progress and goals and I will suggest activities outside of class to help you practice what you have learnt. I am experienced in teaching beginners to advanced level students from teenagers to adults. I have Masters degrees in Creative Writing and Psychology and so am able to use and teach both creative and academic language skills. 

 I live in Hove in southeast England and also spend a lot of time in Lisbon, Portugal. I am trying to learn Portuguese and finding it challenging but fun.  I love meeting new people and finding out about them and what motivates them.
