Hello, I'm Edward, I’m British and I teach English with a BBC English accent.  I have a degree in Political Science, am TEFL certified and have taught English for 6 years, specialising in Business English, Advanced English and Cambridge Exams.  

Business English - I have 14 years of business experience, working in marketing, public relations, corporate communications, sales and export roles. I can help you to develop key communication skills, including language for emails, phone & video calls, meetings, presentations, negotiations, and promotions. About me:

I’m Diana, a friendly and patient English teacher from the beautiful city of Cape Town currently living in Portugal. In 2017, I completed my TESOL and TEYLT trainings and since then I have worked with students from all around the world both in language schools and online. I have lived and taught English in 5 different countries (Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, Turkey and South Africa) to students of all levels (beginners to advanced). In 2021, I became certified to teach Ielts and have thus helped numerous students with  their exam preparations too.

I'm passionate about learning and teaching languages and have studied Portuguese, Spanish, German and Turkish. Through my own language studies, I have learnt that an active conversational approach is the best way to master a language! Some of my other passions include yoga, travel, food and art!:)

My lessons:

My approach to teaching depends a lot on the level and goals of the student. Each student is unique with different necessities so I don’t have a one size fits all proposition. Lessons are tailored to you and are adapted as you progress.Expect to receive a lot of feedback, corrections and if you would like, homework activities.

Me as a Teacher
I am a professional English teacher with more than 30 years of teaching experience mainly in US - NYC and UK - East Midlands. Initially as a college English and Maths teacher, these days I teach online. My learners are students who tend to improve their school grades, students who are preparing for international exams, business professionals who work or intend to work for international companies or people who learn English for pleasure.  For every individual I usually prepare some tasks for a free talk, grammar practice or a role-play situation with targeting vocabulary and phrases. There is always a summary, a given feedback at the end of the class which helps my learners to make progress highly visible.

I believe that every learner is different and teaching them should be personalized. I like to apply different teaching methods to see which one would be the most productive. Of course, I need to meet student several times to be able to find out his/her learning style and be able to create a teaching strategy. In my experience, an individual approach, a personalized topic and mutual effort definitely bring some fruit.

With my background as an examiner for IELTS and Cambridge Assessment (CAE, FCE, PET, KET) for over 8 years, I can accurately assess your level and provide you with targeted tasks. I understand the specific challenges that B1-C2 level learners face, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University. In addition, I have logged over 15,000 hours of tutoring online over the last 7 years.

In my classes, I prioritize flexibility and strive to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment. I believe in infusing energy, humor, and my personality to make the learning process enjoyable and effective.

Hi, I am Harriet, a native English speaker and qualified teacher with over 20 years teaching experience.

The lessons are structured around you as an individual and start with finding out what you want to learn or improve and why. We will then agree a plan of interesting and challenging activities to help you meet your goals. I teach general conversation skills, including increasing confidence, and learning new vocabulary and Business English. I have helped many students successfully prepare for job interviews or to take on new roles. I can also help you prepare for language tests and focus on pronunciation.

The lessons will be lively and varied, using a range of methods, materials and contexts. We will regularly review your progress and goals and I will suggest activities outside of class to help you practice what you have learnt. I am experienced in teaching beginners to advanced level students from teenagers to adults. I have Masters degrees in Creative Writing and Psychology and so am able to use and teach both creative and academic language skills. 

 I live in Hove in southeast England and also spend a lot of time in Lisbon, Portugal. I am trying to learn Portuguese and finding it challenging but fun.  I love meeting new people and finding out about them and what motivates them. My name is Andromeda and I am a CELTA qualified English language teacher from London, England. I have taught English for the past 13 years in academies, businesses and online.

I specialise in Business English providing you with the language points you need to express yourself effectively in meetings, give fantastic presentations, conduct job interviews as well as other functions such as negotiation, describing charts and forecasting.

I practice a teaching method called oral agility whereby all grammar and vocabulary are taught through speaking exercises. This means modelling words, repeating phrases and conversation exercises.

Classes with me are fun and dynamic and above all, you will see rapid progress with your English because you will be constantly speaking.

NOTE: I believe in giving students the best experience for their money and so if you book at 55-minute class, that class will be a full hour (60 minutes) and not 55 minutes.
