I have a teacher in Lettere Moderne and I'm certified to teach Italian language to foreigners. I've been teaching for 5 years non-stop and I've experimented with many methods of teaching. I consider myself a perennial student. I speak English, Spanish and French, I can translate Latin and I love history and philosophy. I use a communicative approach but I deem grammar essential, that's why I prefer to alternate exercises, reading and creative games. In my free time, I write, I watch movies and I practice sport. For another, you’ll have to work with your own resources to deal with a new situation. Which comes very handy when you speak with natives. (Natives always have this bad habit of saying a lot more things than what's in your handbook, and they never seem to ask you the questions you know how to answer...) I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. Then, after understanding your level, I will create a plan to make your language learning fun and efficient and share it with you.
In particular, if your main aim is only to learn the Italian language, we can focus on all the aspects of the language (grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Instead, if you need to learn more about Italian culture, we will discuss history and traditions while learning the language.

I am very fond of Italian culture and I love to spread it all over the world. To know "Italy" is not only about visiting the cities of Milan, Florence or Venice. Italy is much more.
It is experiencing the calm of the Alps, hiking the Dolomites, eating Neapolitan street food, and being charmed by the Sardinian or Apulian transparent sea.
It is discovering Sicilian ways of life, hiking Mount Etna (Europe's largest active volcano), its widespread Bronte pistachio, and wines, both of them grown on volcanic soil.
But, first of all, it is a land of contrasts, which can be clearly understood only if you visit both northern and southern Italy, by getting in touch with the locals and their ways of life.
