My name is Selene and I teach Italian to adults at all levels. My aim is to deliver lessons that are not boring, useful to what you want to achieve and adaptable to your learning style. I have experience teaching students from all over the world, from beginners to more advanced students. I create my lessons with the help of books, images, authentic material, my personal experiences and a bit of sense of humour. 
Italian is a language full of history and culture. I believe it is almost impossible to learn Italian without learning its culture and traditions. Cultural activities, recipes and travel tips are my signature lessons. I am qualified to prepare for CILS exams and B1 citizenship exams. I can guide you to the process of getting the Italian proficiency qualification you need.

I developed my methods during the years and I'm able to create a friendly environment in which the students can learn without any pressure. My students have been with me for a long time :).

I am a native Italian teacher specialized in tutoring Italian for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. I have been working since 2016 for several agencies and for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London teaching Italian from scratch. I am also a CILS tutor and exam administrator.

I have a teacher in Lettere Moderne and I'm certified to teach Italian language to foreigners. I've been teaching for 5 years non-stop and I've experimented with many methods of teaching. I consider myself a perennial student. I speak English, Spanish and French, I can translate Latin and I love history and philosophy. I use a communicative approach but I deem grammar essential, that's why I prefer to alternate exercises, reading and creative games. In my free time, I write, I watch movies and I practice sport. For one thing, you won't feel the pressure to look smart in front of your teacher. C'mon, they just asked you to speak Italian with a platypus, are you really worried about bad impressions? For another, you’ll have to work with your own resources to deal with a new situation. Which comes very handy when you speak with natives. (Natives always have this bad habit of saying a lot more things than what's in your handbook, and they never seem to ask you the questions you know how to answer...) I am a guy who loves meeting new people and new cultures. In fact, in the past, I have worked in the front office, such as in reception - the job I like most.

Hi, I'm Cristina from Italy!

I studied Foreign languages and Linguistics and I'm here to help you learn and discover the beauties of the Italian language. My lessons are mainly focused on grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pronunciation. My approach to teaching depends on the level and goals of the student. Not only will we learn grammar and new words but we will also pay attention to the correct pronunciation (I have a standard pronunciation so you can easily learn the standard variety of Italian)  : the student will be given some exercises to practise their pronunciation (tongue twisters are great to practise the difficult sounds of a foreign language!). Moreover, we will develop the four language skills ( speaking, writing, listening and reading) through constant and gradual training. 

With more advanced students, it can be great to have conversational lessons. Since I'm a very curious person (I'm very passionate about Science, Art and sport) we may talk about any topic you are interested in.

Although I specialize in teaching Italian phonetics to foreigners, especially English, Spanish, and Portuguese students, I always adapt my lessons to your level (A1-C1) and goals.
In the first free lesson, I will give you feedback about your level of Italian and ask you about your objectives and motivations.
Then, after understanding your level, I will create a plan to make your language learning fun and efficient and share it with you.
In particular, if your main aim is only to learn the Italian language, we can focus on all the aspects of the language (grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Instead, if you need to learn more about Italian culture, we will discuss history and traditions while learning the language.

I am very fond of Italian culture and I love to spread it all over the world. To know "Italy" is not only about visiting the cities of Milan, Florence or Venice. Italy is much more.
It is experiencing the calm of the Alps, hiking the Dolomites, eating Neapolitan street food, and being charmed by the Sardinian or Apulian transparent sea.
It is discovering Sicilian ways of life, hiking Mount Etna (Europe's largest active volcano), its widespread Bronte pistachio, and wines, both of them grown on volcanic soil.
But, first of all, it is a land of contrasts, which can be clearly understood only if you visit both northern and southern Italy, by getting in touch with the locals and their ways of life.
