I am a teacher in Lettere Moderne in a high school with a background in linguistics. I'm certified to teach Italian language to foreigners and I've been teaching for 7 years non-stop, experimenting with many methods of teaching. I consider myself a perennial student. I studied Foreign languages and Linguistics and I'm here to help you learn and discover the beauties of the Italian language. My lessons are mainly focused on grammar, vocabulary, conversation and pronunciation. My approach to teaching depends on the level and goals of the student. Not only will we learn grammar and new words but we will also pay attention to the correct pronunciation (I have a standard pronunciation so you can easily learn the standard variety of Italian)  : the student will be given some exercises to practise their pronunciation (tongue twisters are great to practise the difficult sounds of a foreign language!). Moreover, we will develop the four language skills ( speaking, writing, listening and reading) through constant and gradual training. 

With more advanced students, it can be great to have conversational lessons. Since I'm a very curious person (I'm very passionate about Science, Art and sport) we may talk about any topic you are interested in.

Hi everyone, I am Anna and I am a professional Italian teacher for foreigners. I come from Venice where I live and work. I can help you in the study of modern Italian as it is really spoken nowadays. I am a bilingual Italian and English teacher and a freelance translator at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. I completed the ITALS Master's degree for teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. My field of specialization and current research is Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics to better understand what happens in our brains and minds when we study a foreign language and what emotions are involved. When I am not teaching, I travel. I lived in London for a while and also in Liverpool while I was writing my dissertation. I also speak Spanish, so I am also a language student and understand very well how difficult it is to study a language.

My name is Ilaria and I studied International Communication at "University for Foreigners of Perugia", but don't worry (in Italian we would say "tranquillo"), I'm 100% italian!

I have a certification of competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language or second language (CEDILS) issued by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

My first experience in teaching Italian as a second language was in 2009 in the south of France.

Once back in Italy I began teaching Italian to foreign students at school...it was 2010.

I've been doing it since then and my students come from all over the world. Today I know for sure that is not enough to be a "native" to teach someone a language.

Grammar is often considered boring but we can't avoid learning it. Only when you know the role and function of every single word in a sentence you'll have a solid understanding that will improve your confidence in speaking a foreign language.  

It's like to lay the foundations for building a house!
