My name is Manuel and I live in Turin, northern Italy.
I am a linguist expert in teaching Italian as L2 (as a second language).
I graduated in Linguistic Mediation and majored in Foreign Languages for International Communication at the University of Turin.
My field of specialization is teaching Italian phonetics to foreigners, especially English, Spanish, and Portuguese students. I have been teaching Italian to foreign people and English/Spanish to Italians for more than 5 years.
My lessons will not only be based on phonetics, as it is important but is not the only field of linguistics you should learn. Instead, they will be based on your level and aim. At the same time, I believe the best method to learn a new language is talking and practicing as much as you can, exactly how we learned our mother tongue when we were children. I have a teacher in Lettere Moderne and I'm certified to teach Italian language to foreigners. I've been teaching for 5 years non-stop and I've experimented with many methods of teaching. I consider myself a perennial student. I speak English, Spanish and French, I can translate Latin and I love history and philosophy. I use a communicative approach but I deem grammar essential, that's why I prefer to alternate exercises, reading and creative games. In my free time, I write, I watch movies and I practice sport. I also enjoy playing my guitar and playing chess.

My passion for languages started very early when I moved abroad during high school.

After working for a few years in a different industry I decided to follow my passion and it became my full time profession. I am certified Italian tutor (CEDILS certification) as well as a certified English tutor (TEFL certification).

Since I was a child, I have had a great passion for foreign languages and the different cultures of the world. This passion has helped me in my many travels and cultural interactions with people from all over the world.

I worked for many years in the tourism industry and I have many hobbies and interests. I like reading, art, cooking (Italian food, of course!), music, sports, cinema, trekking, holistic therapies and much more!

In Rome I teach Italian as a foreign language to young adults coming from all over Europe, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. So, my classes depend a lot on the level of the student.

At beginner level I focus mainly on the basic aspects of communication, using readings, songs and videos,with more emphasis on grammar.

At advanced levels the classes are more informal, based on conversations regarding different topics that we can choose together.
