I'm Sara and I'm an Italian teacher with more than 8 years experience teaching this wonderful language!

I began teaching when I was studying my Bachelor's degree (che bei tempi!) ... I started almost as a joke but I realized soon that I actually liked this profession and, after so many years, I still feel the same!

Throughout the years I had the opportunity to work with a variety of students and each of them taught me a lot: every teaching experience is unique and this is why I love it.

That being said, maybe you would like to know something more about how I work.

I usually offer a free trial lesson, where I like to get to know my students better and understand their needs, goals and interests.

This helps me not only to build a tailor made learning path, which is shared and discussed with the student, but also to select the material and the topics that best suit each person.

If I had to choose my strongest point, I would definitely say that it is the kind of relationship I establish with my students: open and informal to make learning easier and to fully enjoy the experience.

About me — My name’s Filippo. I’m a native speaker of Italian and live in Rome. I hold the DITALS I certificate, i.e., the license for the Teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena. I can also speak English and am very fond of British English phonology. I have two degrees, one in philosophy and the other in religious studies, and taught in secondary schools in Rome for 21 years. I mainly speak standard Italian or, as linguists would say, “Tuscan Italian as spoken by Roman citizens”, i.e., the Italian language as historically spoken in Florence, without its peculiar local features.

My lessons (a broad overview) — If you’re already attending an Italian language course or are a self-taught student, I'll be your go-to person for any further explanations and corrections, as complement to your personal journey to learning Italian. I can also provide topic-focused speaking classes on topics of your choice or mutual agreement, as well as offering help for exams preparation for language certificates of all levels (A1 – C2). If, on the contrary, you're looking for more structured classes as part of a broader and comprehensive Italian language course, I'll be very happy to guide you and provide you with all the necessary relevant materials.

My topic-focused speaking classes (a specific example) — At latest one day before class, I'll send you a list of key words and expressions that will help you prepare for the topic of conversation. We’ll always start our lessons by describing, analyzing and contrasting visual inputs (images and photos) in order to develop your communication skills. We will also look at one or two texts on the topic in order to enrich the specific vocabulary in use and the conversation itself. Infographics, as well as quotes from some personalities who have expressed their view on the topic, are also integral parts of the lessons. During the conversation I'll assess your oral production (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar) and you'll receive my feedback to help you progress in this area.

Hi everyone, my name is Valerio, and I'm a native Italian speaker born and raised in Turin, Italy. 

I love everything related to self-development. I enjoy watching movies, learning languages, and spending time with my family and my friends.

I have been teaching online for 6 years, overall about 3500 lessons with about 120 students.

Teaching Approach

I'm patient and friendly and this will help you talk: the primary and most important reason to take this type of class is to find an opportunity to practice: the more you speak, the more mistakes I can find and the more new expressions and pronunciation tips can be taught.

The content of the class is flexible: students have different backgrounds and learning styles. So we will discuss and set your learning targets to tailor our lessons to your unique needs.

I like you if you speak about what you are interested in: languages are not an end in themselves. While you talk, I write the corrections, and you can see them live, but you are not interrupted, just like talking to a friend!

Pleased to meet you! I am Grazia and I have been teaching Italian to foreigners for more than ten years! I have a great passion for this job and I am always very happy to meet new students and get in touch with their world! My method is based first of all on listening and understanding the needs and attitudes of each student, and in this way I try to offer lessons that are... 'tailor-made'! I believe that grammar is important, but I also always give a lot of space to conversation, communication and fun. The tools I use for my lessons vary greatly: from grammar review sheets to poems, songs, videos... anything that I find stimulating can become a very good working tool! Since obtaining the DITALS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, I have taught both in Italy and abroad, to students of all ages and in both individual and group lessons.  One aspect of this work that I find very important (and really valuable!) is building a relationship with the students. 

After all, teaching allows me to bring together my two greatest passions: the Italian language and... people, from all over the world.

Ciao! My name is Mauro, I am native Italian from Calabria! I studied International Relations at Bologna University, then I moved to Padua, for a PhD in History of Political Thought. I am a very passionate teacher, I love to share my language and my knowledge about Italy, and its culture, films, music, literature, arts, food!!! My teaching methodology is integrated: I think that it is important to work on all of linguistic abilities: oral and writing comprehension and production. Hi! thanks for visiting my page! I am a professional English and Italian language teacher with over 7 years' experience teaching students from all around the world. I am very creative and curious, always excited about meeting new students and engage in interesting conversations. I always try to design a lesson around the learner's needs and focus on the areas to improve. I am very passionate about languages but I also love writing fiction, painting and playing the guitar. I believe teaching should be fun, stimulating and inspiring. I am Ilaria, and I am a native Italian teacher. I have been teaching Italian for several years now, and I love my job.

I am a full-time Italian teacher, and I am building my entire career around the Italian language. I am also a blogger and a podcaster.

In the past, I have attended German and Spanish courses. But I am still a language student, in fact, I keep taking English classes, so I know how difficult and frustrating can be to learn a foreign language for my students.

My teaching method is focused on the students. During the first lesson, I ask them why they want to learn Italian and the goals they want to achieve. I am a supportive person, and I will constantly be there to guide you during the challenge of learning a foreign language!

With beginners, we will start learning grammar, but I will try to let them speak from the first lesson, helping them to create their first sentences.

Once the level advances, the part of the conversation will become gradually longer, but obviously, we will keep adding grammar information.

With students with a higher level, I will be more flexible and, the work to do will be decided together. Some of them prefer to have an informal lesson, based on conversation. Others prefer to have a more structured class, with readings and exercises.

My name is Marzia and I am a native Italian language teacher! Are you interested in learning Italian to travel to Italy, to learn more about the Italian culture, or to connect with your Italian roots?  Whatever your reason, I’d be happy to help you!  

I have been teaching online for more than five years and I am passionate about sharing my love for my language with my students.  I teach students of all ages and levels. 

Lessons are based on the needs of my students. CIAO a tutti! Hello everybody! I'm Giuliana,  a qualified Italian teacher with more than 15 years experience.

I’m a native Italian from sunny southern Italy and I hold a Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and Ditals II Level (Certificate of advanced skills in Teaching Italian to Foreigners). I am also a CILS Certification examiner 

I have students of all ages and I travel very often to prepare them for Italian language proficiency certifications (Cils, Celi, Roma 3) for exams and B1 Certificate for Italian Citizenship.  

I taught in Turkey (Istanbul), in Perù (Lima) and in Togo (Lomè) to children, university students and adult people who love Italian language and culture.

My lessons are specifically based on your needs and goals  and designed to enable you to COMMUNICATE in situations which you are likely to encounter in Italy. They are stimulating and interactive and organized in a relaxed environment in which learning feels like a natural process.
