I prefer to teach grammar with  examples because they contain chunks of grammar that we will later encounter in other phrases and grammar constructions. You will create your examples and incorporate the grammar rules. We will learn grammar from real-life scenarios where people communicate naturally their thoughts, following a communicative learning approach. We will also work on Google Sheets, which you will always have access to and where we can work on and save all of our learning sessions.

I will send you homework regularly just so you can work on your Spanish in between every session that we have. 

I encourage you to focus on the process rather than the outcome. IIf we trust the process, we make progress! Falling in love with the journey of language acquisition is the most rewarding path by far. 

So far I've learned that certain teaching methods are best suited to specific students. Each student has their own preferred learning style and unique goals, and yours will be a guide for me to personalize your lessons. 

I believe that every student has a valuable voice that should be heard, that's how I will organize our future lessons. My teaching style is flexible. I can designing a study plan independently or collaboratively with the student.

Regarding my studies, I am a Spanish philology graduated, DELE accredited examiner from level A1 to level C2 by Instituto Cervantes and I have a master’s degree in Spanish Teaching as a Foreigner Language. ¡Hola! Me llamo Luis y soy de Cáceres, España. I live in Spain, close to Portugal, and I've also lived in Japan and Portugal. I am up to date with the newest learning theories, I use "Language Transfer" and "Comprehensible Input", so the materials are adapted to these methods, focusing on learning in context. I also love culture and history (film, music, literature, geography) ¡Nos vemos en clase!

My lessons are directed to students of all levels looking to develop their own speaking and writing style in Spanish. I believe that the creative drive is one of the most powerful accelerators of learning and in particular, language learning; so my classes involve acting exercises, fun writing prompts, vocal training akin to singers' training, and a variety of further creative work.

We will work on near perfect pronunciation through vocal practice that takes from singing practice, but focuses on diction. You'll become aware of how the muscles of your mouth and face create sound, and how using different resonance points throughout your face will get you to reproduce just the sound you were stuck with. Muscle memory, baby!

Fluency in articulating your own thoughts and essence in Spanish is achievable through writing prompts that do feel important for you. To write about a topic that actually matters to you, I'll provide you with beautiful vocabulary words, and we'll get through grammatical forms that may better encapsulate your ideas and feelings. I will help you make Spanish your own.

If you are wanting to absorb a particular part of Hispanic or Latino culture (e.g. Rosalía's composition, rap music, particular accents, reggeaton's lyrics), we will investigate and go through the elements at interest to get you to the point of creation. If you are a musician or a writer, I can help you use the rhythmic essence of Spanish in your own art. Hit me up!

Within every technique I use, I work with my knowledge of neural connection strengthening and weakening, all facilitated through repetition, reward, understanding and reprogramming of reflexes, investigation of previous outdated strategies, etc. Emotional management is key to success, and we'll work on that in your training just as much as in the linguistic side.
