I have been teaching for about 10 years and learning languages for even longer, so I know what it's like to learn a new language. And exactly because of that, I'm a very patient and understanding teacher :)
Regarding our classes, everything will depend on your needs. However, I would like to tell you about two types of classes I offer that my students like a lot:
The first one is a class where you can ask me any question you want about Spanish. It can be about vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or even about our way of thinking. ;)
The second type of class is one in which I use my own teaching method, with which you can practice your writing, speaking, and listening comprehension skills, and also improve your pronunciation and grammar during every session.
Does it sound good to you? Would you like to know more about it and give it a try? Just book a class with me, and I will see you soon! :D

My name is Mercedes and I am from a beautiful city in the south of Spain called Cádiz.
I have been teaching Spanish for many years now ( +3000 hours taught online) and during this time I have learnt a lot teaching both online and in person as I was able to start my teaching path in the lovely capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh 💙
I am certified as a Spanish language teacher through International House, a worldwide Organization that stands up for a communicative method.
My experience has taught me how effective it is to create a relaxed and calmed working environment in which both the student and the teacher feel comfortable working together towards a specific goal.
I offer a close accompaniment and guidance to discover the fundamental mechanism of the language. I will take into account where we start from and your goals for learning Spanish.
I am a person with extensive experience teaching adults, from basic to advanced levels. I have helped students to learn Spanish for many purposes: traveling in Latino América or España, planning to do El Camino de Santiago, improving your attention and memory, doing an exam or even planning to move to a Spanish speaking country.
My teaching style is different from the traditional approach we have had in schools since childhood.
First, we will get into context to the topic through a video, an image, a reading, etc. Then we will learn the grammar or vocabulary concept to be introduced that day, and then we will do a good practice to internalize it.
If you are curious to find out more, why not book an initial free consultation with me? :) I will be happy to hear about your reasons for wanting to learn Spanish.
¡Te espero! 🙋♀️

I am up to date with the newest learning theories, I use "Language Transfer" and "Comprehensible Input", so the materials are adapted to these methods, focusing on learning in context. I am qualified Spanish teacher from Málaga (Spain). I lived and taught in London for over 14 years before moving back to Málaga in 2019. I gained my Certificate for Spanish Teaching to Adults in 2011 from International House School of Languages, and I also have a Cambridge CELTA (for English teaching) from the same school, completed in 2020.
I have taught Spanish to business professionals, at University, to GCSE, A Level and DELE students, and to learners who just take lessons for travelling or self-improvement. My previous and current students all come from multiple backgrounds, nationalities, abilities and levels of Spanish, from total beginner to advanced.
In my classes you will start communicating by simple dialogues (simple if you're a beginner) from the first lesson. I will focus on improving your pronunciation (something often overlooked by teachers); teaching you the grammar gradually, so you don't feel overwhelmed; enriching your vocabulary prioritizing your needs and personal interests; and improving your fluency. My students often praise my patience, my well-planned lessons and the fact that they feel relaxed to learn in class. I welcome mistakes (and correct them of course!) as a sure sign that learning is happening. You do learn a lot from your mistakes.
As a lifelong lover of the arts and a practicing artist, I like to give my classes a cultural flavour, sharing relevant information about music, films, books and art.
Looking forward to meeting you in class!

¡Hola! My name is María and I'm from Mexico.
I have 3 years of teaching experience. I majored in Languages from Universidad de las Américas Puebla and I obtained a certification to teach Spanish as a foreign language. My classes use a blended methodology that incorporates grammar and communication activities in a laid-back and dynamic way. I have hand picked or created all the materials according to the needs of my students and I often use resources like audios, videos and games to make the lesson more interactive. My main goal is to help my students feel comfortable expressing themselves and learn at their own pace.
My favorite part of language teaching is getting to know the cultures and interests of my students. I'd be happy to work on a plan that fits your needs. You don't need any previous experience learning Spanish or a foreign language. Since I am also a doctoral student I only have a limited number of hours. However, I have a flexible schedule and if you don’t see a time that works for you we can discuss an alternative during the trial lesson.
Hope to see you soon!

I am a native speaker with a neutral Spanish accent. My pronunciation is clear and easy to understand. I love teaching Spanish to international students and I am happy to see them making progress learning the language. I have four years of experience teaching Spanish to students from all over the world.
My teaching style:
Patient: I personally experienced the struggles of learning a new language. I learnt different languages from the scratch, so I will encourage you during the lesson.
Hands-on class: My lessons are practical. I will help you to boost your confidence in learning Spanish through practical exercises.
Competent: I am committed to helping you succeed in learning Spanish.
Functional: I will focus on the skills and knowledge you need to ensure you achieve your goals and needs.

7 years teaching Spanish—wow! I specialize in ADHD-friendly, high-energy classes where mistakes are welcome and laughter is mandatory (seriously, no dull drills here).
After living in the U.S. for 6 years, I get it: that awful “ugh, I sound like a toddler in my second language” panic 😅.
My lessons? Grammar made fun, culture-packed conversations, and zero pressure. Plus, I’m a total nerd for cognitive hacks (like my Subjuntivo Punk Masterclass) that make tricky rules finally stick.
Ready to learn Spanish without the stress? Let’s turn “ugh, studying” into “heck yes, this works!

Hello, this is María, I’m a certified Spanish language teacher from Mexico City. I have been teaching online for over 10 years to teenagers and adults. The focus of my lessons is on conversation. I use a variety of resources such as textbooks, presentations, online activities, articles, music, and videos to cater for your learning needs and style, stimulate discussion, and help you reach your language goals in no time.
See Reviews From StudentsTutors on LanguaTalk sometimes provide lessons locally, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, most tutors are not teaching Spanish in Amsterdam because they're living elsewhere in the world. If you decide to book with a tutor, you should assume that they can only teach you online.
Our research suggests that the average cost for private Spanish lessons in Amsterdam is somewhere between $25-$35 per hour. As online tutors do not need to travel to you and they often live in countries with a lower cost of living, the hourly cost tends to be significantly lower.
Whether you live in the city centre or the suburbs of Amsterdam, there are many options for learning Spanish. You could use an app or a software program if you're looking to pick up basic vocabulary and learn some grammar rules. Alternatively, you could attend group lessons with Spanish tutors in Amsterdam if you're keen for a social experience. Or, you could take 1-on-1 lessons with a private tutor. This isn't the cheapest way to learn a language but it's possibly the most effective, assuming you have a good tutor. Learning online rather than face-to-face may make private tutors a more affordable option. Check the tutor profiles above to see how much it's likely to cost. Prices vary a lot depending on the tutor, but will usually be cheaper than learning with a Spanish tutor in Amsterdam, face-to-face.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning Spanish online because they think it’ll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
If you're really not keen on learning with a teacher via video call, LanguaTalk isn't going to be the right choice for you. You can instead search for a tutor on a local service listing website, or put up an advert in your local area. We do encourage you to give it a try learning online though - you've got nothing to lose as you can book a free trial session. Most people find the experience is as good as learning face-to-face, but with the benefit of having access to better tutors at a lower cost.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, you’ll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the ‘Buy Lessons’ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if they’re for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutor’s full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, you’ll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever Spanish tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
New to LanguaTalk? We'll give you a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If they do not, the price will be just 30 percent of their full lesson price, so you can still try a session at minimal cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in Spanish as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is quite right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for just 30 percent of their full lesson price.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, just check their calendar to make sure that they have available times that fit your schedule. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have a lot of students.
On LanguaTalk, you can find exceptional tutors for 1-on-1 Spanish lessons tailored to your goals and learning preferences. Here’s how to try it for yourself:
1 - Find your ideal tutor by browsing videos, reviews, pricing and availability.
2 - Book a trial. Many tutors offer a 30-minute trial for free; others charge a discounted price.
3 - Take personalised lessons with your new tutor via video call. Or try someone else.
No card is required to book a free trial session. Please only book if you're considering taking lessons. Pricing varies by tutor and you can use the filter to find someone who fits your budget. You can pay one lesson at a time, or buy in bulk for a discount (open a tutor's profile to see their pricing options).
We’re confident you’ll love learning via LanguaTalk. We're trusted by students all over the world because we're transparent. We ask students to rate each lesson, and we display reviews on tutors’ profiles.
99.8% of lesson ratings are 5 stars. Why? Because unlike other platforms, we accept only the top 10% of tutor applications.
