I've been teaching French online since 2016, previously having worked developing the skills of young people, adults and foreigners of all levels.

In my opinion, a teacher’s enthusiasm, patience, humour and understanding of their students’ needs are key to help a student learn efficiently, and for the student to enjoy lessons which is important for learning,

I adapt my teaching to your needs which will naturally vary according to your personnel situation, from beginner to advanced level, as a teenager at school or student, or as a mature learner. Choosing topics which interest you is very important.

Your needs may vary such as:

- learning the French language, discovering French culture, history or current affairs.

- seeking conversational French to keep up your level. If you have an intermediate level or above, we can speak about any topic that interests you.

- wanting to improve or refresh your French before visiting France or working in a French speaking country. De

- wishing to improve your French for professional use.

- looking to pass French proficiency exams such as DELF (A2 to B2) and DALF (C1 to C2).

Teaching method:

I use a variety of tools and aids such as books for grammar and vocabulary, specific books for exams such as DELF, press articles, podcasts and literature.

We start with a small test to establish your level and then progress to discussion, reading and writing exercices. I can send you material according to your needs.

About me:

My interests include travel especially in Europe. I spend my time between Provence and Northern Ireland ; nature, animals, and the environment. I loved horse riding ; sustainability ; history, architecture and philosophy ; geopolitics ; food and especially French and Asian food.

Hello, how are you? My name is Sylvain, I'm 30 and from Belgium. I currently live in São Paulo, Brazil with my wife. I have a degree in management, but I've been working as a French teacher since I arrived in Brazil. 
I did a university exchange in Chile, which helped me learn Spanish.  I'm a curious person and I'm interested in almost every topic, but I particularly like talking about the economy, politics, technology and cultural differences between countries.After arriving in Brazil, an opportunity came up for me to work as a French teacher in a school for adults, where I worked for the first two years. After that, I decided to become self-employed and concentrate on one-to-one, in-company and online teaching. Today, I have students of all levels with different objectives (work, travel, pleasure, French language maintenance, diplomacy etc.) and I love it when they are satisfied and see themselves progressing. On top of that, I find it very interesting to be able to talk to people with different profiles, backgrounds and histories.


We will define the material to be used according to your specific needs. We'll work with a variety of materials such as:
-French language methods (Défi, Tout va bien, Alter Ego, etc.)

-Grammar/vocabulary books covering general themes or more specific to your objectives 

-Recent articles, videos and audios on current topics

-Speaking or conversational exercices

-Test preparation

In addition, I try to stimulate the student to talk about different themes that are important to him/her.


 

Bonjour ! I'm Laura, a native French teacher from Paris.

I’m passionate about languages, travel, and culture. Before becoming a teacher, I spent 5 years working for the Paris Tourist Office, which gave me a deep understanding of my city and its many hidden gems. I also love cooking — especially traditional French recipes — and I enjoy bringing elements of French gastronomy, culture, and daily life into my lessons.

Over the years, I’ve taught learners from all over the world with various goals: studying in France, moving abroad, or simply learning for pleasure. I’ve also helped students prepare for French exams like the DELF, TCF, and TEF Canada, with a special focus on oral expression.

For the first part of my higher education, I went to preparatory school in literature. It allowed me to get in-depth knowledge in French language, literature and history. Then I studied in an international context in which I got a Business and Entrepreneurship Bachelor and Marketing and Brand Management Master. Therefore, I am perfectly at ease to teach and offer adapted content depending on my students.

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced level, I will gladly support you in learning French!

Together, we’ll define your learning goals and adapt each lesson to your level, interests, and pace. I use a variety of resources — articles, videos, songs, podcasts — to keep things dynamic and work on all aspects of the language: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and conversation. My classes are conducted mainly in French to help you immerse yourself in the language, but I can also explain things in English or Spanish when needed.

Learning languages is a passion of mine, along with many others :-) I welcome everyone to come and learn with me; whatever your current level, I’ll be very happy to help you gain more fluency in French. I’m very patient and will provide a cheerful and safe environment where you can talk without any stress or fear of being judged. I try to stick to French as much as possible during the lessons in order to build up your confidence about being able to navigate through your new language. 

I believe in helping you master French as it is spoken/written by actual French-speaking people, not textbooks. This means adapting the material and language level to the situation. Indeed, we don’t usually speak in daily life the way a journalist does on the news. And we don’t write a formal report as we would an email to a friend. So knowing your goals and why you are learning French is essential.

Qualifications and experience: 10 years of experience in Scotland and France including 5 years online. Master's degree in History (1st), a French as a foreign language teaching degree (DAEFLE). Accredited DELF-DALF, TEF and TCF examiner.

c- Business French: Studying and practice of business French to learn useful workplace skills (leading a meeting, phone calls, interviews, making a resume etc)

d- Phonetics; I have created a very wide range of resources over the years to make sure you'll polish your accent quickly! 

e- Conversation: about the topics of your choice (using texts and videos as starting point or no). Optional feedback on your vocab, grammar and pronunciation at the end of the class.

With a Master's in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), I am deeply passionate about language learning and teaching my native tongue—French!

I am well-versed in the DELF A1-B2 exams and offer lessons focused on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar for casual learners. I have taught French online and in person to learners of all ages. I tailor my lessons to each student's level and goals. My priority is to help you gain confidence and make tangible progress in French.

For the trial lesson

• I will first share a Google Docs document with you. This will allow you to access lesson plans in advance and add your own notes throughout our sessions.
• In the first few minutes, I’ll ask you to introduce yourself and share your expectations for our lessons.
• We will start with simple exercises to assess your comfort level with grammar, reading, listening, and speaking.

If your main focus is speaking, we will engage in various speaking exercises to help you gain confidence in the language. If you're preparing for the DELF exams or any school/university assessments, we will target the areas you feel need the most improvement. And if you're here to learn French in a fun and relaxed way, we can explore any themes or topics that interest you.

 I come from Nancy in the north-east of France. I lived one year in Spain and  I am living now in Dublin. 

 I studied Performing Art and film studies in France, Spain and in Ireland. I am passionate about travelling, discovering new cultures and art. I completed a diploma to teach French to foreigners (DAEFLE- Alliance Française de Paris) in 2023. I am also an examiner and corrector for the DELF-DALF exam.

I started teaching French part-time 6 years ago when I moved to Dublin. I used to help Irish teenagers to prepare their French exams (Leaving Cert - Junior Cert) and students at the University (preparing oral exams, proof-reading essays).  I have been teaching French online since April 2020 and in person to adults and kids in some languages school since February 2021. 

I teach French to all levels (beginners to advanced) and all ages (kids, teenagers, adults). I can help you to improve your French skills (grammar, vocabulary, French culture, oral fluency) , to prepare your essays, oral presentation, job interview, Delf-Dalf exams  … With  children I usually use a power point to learn basics vocabulary and sentences, and make French games with them. 

I am flexible to your needs, level and way of learning. I use videos and articles based on your interests and encourage practising conversation. I also often relate the lessons to French culture as film, music, news , literature ... I can provide grammar lessons and exercises.
