My teaching approach is primarily focused on oral practice. I firmly believe that communication is the key to mastering a language, which is why my lessons are interactive and based on lively, real-life exchanges. Whether through discussions, role-playing, or real-world simulations, I emphasize speaking skills to help you gain fluency and confidence. I have worked with adults, teenagers, and children, adjusting my methods to suit each individual. Teaching younger learners has allowed me to develop fun and creative techniques to make learning French both enjoyable and motivating. 

As an expatriate myself, I understand the challenges of learning a language in an international environment, which allows me to tailor my lessons to the specific needs of each student. Whether you are preparing for an exam, improving your French for work or travel, or simply discovering the French language and culture, I will be there to support and guide you to make quick and effective progress.

A few years ago, when I was in bed at night and almost ready to sleep, I used to ask myself this question : "Why would people want to learn French? Are they crazy?"

Well... Are you? 

It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a cliché), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). Plus, French is cool and sounds fancy too, so... 😗

About me : My name is Clarysse. I am 22 years old, I've been teaching Latin and French for the past two years and I am very passionate about everything I do. If I had to describe myself in three words as a tutor, I would say funny, methodical and adaptable.

It is always a pleasure to be able to have a fluent conversation (or a heated debate) with students who sometimes started as total beginners and to see them acing their exams.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).

I was a school teacher in France for 4 years, before moving to Argentina where I taught French for one year. 

Back in France, I have been giving French lessons online for more than three years now.

My method:

- Discuss well at the outset to determine your level, your goals, your interests, what you expect from online courses, in order to prepare a 100% personalized course.

- I rely on different methods for beginners, which I adapt to each student according to their progress. For people who have a more advanced level I like to rely on texts or videos for discussion. If the students wish, I can provide grammar/vocabulary exercises to be done outside the class, in order to devote the time of the lesson to conversation/oral practice. 

- I am listening to you after the course in order to evolve our way of working so that the methodology sticks as much as possible to what you need. 

- I send a summary of the notions studied during the course by e-mail (so no need to take notes during the lesson), for those who wish I can send "homework” to prepare the next course. 

My interests: travel, literature, languages (I am currently learning Spanish and Russian, so I am myself in the position of the learner and I know that it is not always easy!).

My name is Oana Maria and I am a professional language teacher and a Linguist graduated at the University of Bordeaux , France. I am currently living in North Norway. I came here to take a second master on Sami language and culture, and recently I have been working in an alternative school with kids. 

I am an eternal language learner and a nomad at heart. I love getting to know new places, living in different countries and cultures and never stop learning. My interests include travel especially in Europe. I spend my time between Provence and Northern Ireland ; nature, animals, and the environment. I loved horse riding ; sustainability ; history, architecture and philosophy ; geopolitics ; food and especially French and Asian food.

Whether you are here to learn French from scratch, or to improve that language, you've come to the right person. As I can speak English and Spanish, don't worry if your French is not completely fluent: we will work on it together. I learned my other languages while traveling so I'm very aware about the fact that the best way to learn a language is by practicing it everyday in casual conversations.
I usually like to start with a first conversation to evaluate your French level and your goals. We will then decide together what kind of class, duration and frequency best suits your needs, level and availability. Then I will adapt the way I speak and teach to your personal needs. 
We will spend the majority of our time together having conversations in French and, if you want, I also can provide formal lessons with exercises & oral or written comprehension.
