I am a native Italian teacher specialized in tutoring Italian for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners. I have been working since 2016 for several agencies and for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London teaching Italian from scratch. I am also a CILS tutor and exam administrator.

I hold a Bachelor in Linguistics and Italian as a second language and also worked for the publishing of an Italian Collocations Dictionary for Italian learners.

I was born in sunny southern Italy, and I hold a Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and the DITALS II certification (an advanced qualification for teaching Italian to foreigners).

I have taught in Turkey, Peru, and Togo, to children, university students, migrants, and adults of all ages—and I've personally experienced what it's like to start life in a new country without knowing the language. Hi! My name is Gerardo. I currently support students with their goals by teaching them Italian and English online. 

I am very patient and friendly. Over the years, I have taught all kinds of language learners. I use very effective textbooks for my students. In addition, I like to have conversations. In my opinion, knowing the secrets of everyday language is also important.

My teaching approach relies on practice and immersion in the language, through conversation and consumption of multiple medias (music, movies, books). 

My main focus is making my students able to communicate and interact as soon as possible, so that they can enjoy their language-learning journey instead of just studying and waiting for a long time before they can actually use what they learned.

During our encounters we will talk, write and practice, intertwining the formal learning of grammar and vocabulary with the more entertaining usage of each skill you will acquire.

Ciao! My name is Mauro, I am native Italian from Calabria! I studied International Relations at Bologna University, then I moved to Padua, for a PhD in History of Political Thought. Ciao! My name is Silvana and I have been teaching Italian at all levels for over 10 years.  

Since I was a child, I have had a great passion for foreign languages and the different cultures of the world. This passion has helped me in my many travels and cultural interactions with people from all over the world.

I worked for many years in the tourism industry and I have many hobbies and interests. I like reading, art, cooking (Italian food, of course!), music, sports, cinema, trekking, holistic therapies and much more!
