Conversational Dutch classes online

Hi :)

My lessons are constructed from a variety of exercises that I will assemble according to your needs. In the introduction we will establish your current level followed by marking your personal goal. In our 'real' lessons there is time for explanations on all the topics that concern you (grammar, vocabulary, orthography, speech, sentence construction, etc.), followed by some personalised exercises. We will do some of them together during our lessons, so I can support you and explain them. And then I will give the rest to you so you can practice at home in your own time. Together we will definitely tackle your goal.

I strive to talk Dutch in our lessons, but if need be I can give explanations in English or in German.

Hello! My name is Hiltje,

I am a Dutchie and have been living in Romania since 1997. I would love to teach you my mother-tongue "Nederlands".  

I like to impart Dutch daily-life culture, history, and traditions in our lessons and conversations. As a professional speech therapist, I enjoy working one-to-one, and preparing a program just for you! You may be a kid, a teenager or an adult, a beginner or already advanced. My passion is teaching you to speak, write, and read Dutch while simultaneously developing your practical listening and grammar skills. 

I have lot of materials and expertise to help you prepare for ALL the official Nt2 exams, which  I like to share with  you!  I also tutor schoolchildren in German, English and Romanian with their homework (and naturally Dutch and Frisian for my own kids 🙂).

In your first lesson, we will establish your learning goals, how we will reach them together and what means we will use.

Hallo! I'm Pauline, and I would love to help you improve your Dutch. In my classes, the focus will be on conversation and interactive teaching. We will discuss what your needs and goals are, and adapt the classes so that they are perfect for you! This is what a typical class can include:

• I will offer you some useful grammatical tools which you can build on. We will practice these through conversation to make sure you completely understand each concept and are comfortable using it.
• We will have conversations tailored to your level about something that sparks your interest. Although it might seem scary, talking in Dutch regularly is how you will improve the fastest!
• We make use of articles, lyrics, and other multimedia to explore not only the language but also the culture.
• I will direct you to some resources/suggest some small tasks so that you can keep practicing outside of my classes as well. This is of course not mandatory.
• We keep track of your progress and evaluate regularly if the classes fit your needs and whether it is going in the direction YOU want it to go.

I'm a Belgian girl, and I love playing the violin, reading, decorating, going to museums & concerts and much more! I'm very interested in languages and cultures, so this is why I want to share mine with you. I taught myself Spanish, which gave me a lot of insight about what is helpful when learning a language. I am native Dutch and I have been teaching Dutch as a second language for more than 18 years. 

I have experience with all levels. I teach everyone from 12 years and above, and people from all over the world. All my student have been very successful in improving their language skills and/or passing their exams.

My lessons are based on speaking the language but we will have a look at grammar, reading, listening and writing as well. I will make you feel comfortable to speak Dutch and we will have a lot of fun. 

I can help you with your grammar, reading, speaking, listening and writing. I can also help you prepare for the Inburgeringsexam A1, A2 and B1. I have lots of material, books for level A0 tot C1, preparation exercises for the inburgeringsexams A1, A2 and B1, NT2 progam I and II, CNAVT exam.

I always consider the individual needs of my students and adapt my lessons to their level and needs. Teaching for me is not just a job it is something that I really enjoy doing.

Hoi! I'm Amarins originally from the Netherlands, but now living in Spain.

After helping my Australian boyfriend passing the Dutch 'inburgeringsexamen' and working as a coach in my previous job, teaching Dutch online was a logical step. Helping others improving their Dutch while working with different nationalities really brings me joy. Now I would like to help you!

My approach to teaching depends on you as a student and your goals . For my students who are just starting to learn Dutch I use an online program in which you can practice outside lessons as well. We also focus on speaking a lot so you can make connections with your friends, in-laws or neighbors. For my more experienced students, I adapt the lessons to your needs too. Whether it is preparing for an exam, wanting to master the different past tenses or needing more specific vocabulary for an internship, I am here to help you.

With my patience I encourage you to express yourself more confidently in Dutch while enjoying the process.

Until the start of the COVID 19 crisis, I was teaching both online and in a language institute. But since the start of the crisis, I have been teaching online full time.  I´ve always loved meeting people and talking to people.   So, working as a teacher was a logical step.   By now, I have taught more than 2000 online classes and received training in NT2 teaching from the University of Leuven. My students tell me they like my classes because I am patient, have a sense of humor and because I make them feel comfortable in speaking the language that we are learning.

With beginners, I like to use a structured approach that focuses on all aspects of the language.   With advanced students, it depends on their goals.  Sometimes I use a structured approach, but if they are going for a job interview, want to be able to communicate better with family/school/…, or have other specific goals, my classes will be very different.   I will also adjust the classes to the learning style of every student.

I enjoy myself when I teach and my students do too.  If you have fun while you learn, you´ll learn faster and stay motivated.  I also get a lot of satisfaction out of helping my students reach their goals.  I've helped people get a better job, have more fun in Belgium and the Netherlands, pass exams such as CNaVT, SELOR and inburgeringsexamen. I am Melanie and I have over 8 years of experience teaching English and Dutch to students of all ages and levels.  
I teach the basics of Dutch to beginners, help intermediate and advanced students to improve their communication skills and prepare NT2 students to successfully pass their B1 and B2 exams. My classes are tailor made to the needs of each individual student, but also have a fixed structure with a strong focus on grammar, pronunciation and communication.

In my opinion people learn best when they enjoy what they are doing and when they are provided with guidance that is attentive to their needs. I want my students to feel at ease, relaxed and confident during class, but I also expect my students to be actively involved in learning Dutch. My goal is to provide a strong foundation that can be used to actively build new knowledge upon. In that way, students will become confident Dutch speakers.

Hello, my name is Renée. I am an experienced and passionate Dutch teacher.  I teach absolute beginners to intermediate students, starting from 13 years old and above.

What can I help you with? Dutch basics, grammar, job interviews, conversational Dutch, etc. 

I will provide you with customized lessons, adjusted to your needs. All materials are provided by me. I use NT2 materials (LINK+, De Opmaat, De Sprong and Koffiepraatjes), voice recordings, online material, Word-documents, and much more. After each lesson you will receive the material for your next lesson, so that you have enough time to prepare.

My lessons are relaxed, fun, structured, informative and of course educational. What I find important when teaching a language to my students, besides teaching what you need to know, is to provide patience, understanding, motivation and guidance. I know how challenging it can be to learn a new language, and I will guide you through it each step of the way. I will provide you with constructive criticism and will keep you updated about your progress. 

When you are a beginner, we will first focus on building up some basic vocabulary and work on pronunciation. After that you will learn the fundamentals of Dutch grammar, and then we will fully focus on the practical use of Dutch with lots of speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises.

Hi! My name is Lize. I'm a native Dutch speaker and teacher born in Belgium but based in Portugal since 2021. I work as a freelance Dutch teacher, teaching intensive courses for an international recruitment agency that hires Portuguese professionals for jobs in the Netherlands, and private classes through LanguaTalk and similar platforms. I have experience teaching groups and individuals, both online and in-person. Language learning is my passion and I love finding out what you're passionate about, so that we can incorporate it in our lessons. My name is Carelys Perez, I am 27 years old and from the Netherlands. I have been tutoring Dutch for a couple of years and still enjoy doing it! I have a passion for languages and like to share this. I can speak multiple languages and even during my Iaw studies, I have focussed on the different language interpretations of the law on several occasions. I am curious and solution-oriented. That is why I believe that with an individual approach, I can help anyone learn the Dutch language!
