my name is Florentin, I've been teaching German for the last 10 years, working both with groups and 1-on-1.

Maybe the most important aspect for me is the atmosphere in which you can be at ease and speak freely without any fear of making mistakes. Mistakes are not only a part of the process, but have to be made and will help your understanding. Our class is a safe space where you can express yourself exactly as you do now and ask all the questions you may have.

In a session we might converse while refining your German language skills, go over your texts together, rehearse an exam and get you ready for a German language certificate test or job interview, take a clarifying look into any specific topic you feel confused about etc. 

All these activities, that can be fun, can also help us see what is needed for you to advance.

We can use my materials and you are also welcome to bring whatever you would like to work with.

More about me:
I initially started teaching German after a one-year journey through South America which I undertook after graduating from university. During these travels I learned Spanish and subsequently got the task of offering tuition to students at university who were struggling with reading academic texts in German. Thereafter I started teaching all German levels to different groups at university and also to students individually and have been doing so for over 10 years now, in-person and online. I've also been leading translation groups and lecturing on other language topics like language philosophy. 
Living and teaching German in other countries for several years gave me deeper insight both into learning languages and into my own mother tongue and during that time I naturally adopted the role of a bridge between cultures and languages. 

I speak English and Spanish fluently and one of these languages could serve as additional support for our work together in case we share it :)

I am a German and English native speaker and have been a teacher for 25 years. I specialize in the exam preparation for the Goethe Zertifikat or equivalent and have considerable experience with professionals, embassy staff and medical students. Understanding and mastering are two completely different things. Therefore, it is not my goal to explain a lot, but to make you USE grammar structures and new words in a systematic way.

I work as language teacher in a school, teach adults at the German Culture Center and prepare my students for all types of official language exams. I am a patient and dedicated German tutor (check my reviews :) ) and I have worked with adults and children of all ages and German levels, so I have teaching material for every level and for exam preparation. Recently, I helped one of my students to pass the Goethe B2 exam. I started teaching languages 5 years ago and obtained a teaching certificate. I´ve been teaching German online for about 3 years. My mother tongues are German and Spanish, but I also speak English (C1 level) and a little bit of French.

Every student is unique, that´s why I prepare each lesson carefully, taking into account the needs, interests and learning goal of my students. Hi! I am Larissa, I am originally from Frankfurt, Germany. Right now, I am living in Baja California, Mexico. Since 2019, I've been teaching German as a foreign language via video chat and in face-to-face sessions. My students come from all over the world, from various age groups and have different skill levels. Depending on your skill level and requirements, we might start at the very beginning, dig into some grammar, do listening, reading and/or conversational exercises. I can also help you with different exam preparations or getting you ready to travel/move to a German speaking country. I like to work with free online sources, but am also happy to work with any material that my students bring to class. It is important to me to create a friendly and judge free atmosphere for my students where they feel comfortable just speaking and asking questions.

My name is Christine. I’m half German, half Belgian, and I have lived in Mexico for 19 years. I have been a teacher for 16 years and I have taught different subjects and languages, such as English, German, Spanish, world history, and geography.  My teaching approach depends on the student's level and interests. That being said, I believe that conversation is an important part of learning a language, and so I often focus on conversation or question-answer sessions in my classes. I love teaching and I always aim to make classes interesting.

I currently use the Netzwerk textbook and workbook by Klett (for A1 level), but I am open to working with other books as well. 

My Spanish level is excellent. I speak Latin American Spanish, but I know the grammar for Spanish from both Spain and Latin America.

I started working as a German tutor in 2017, while I was still travelling a lot between Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and the UK. Teaching Approach

There are many ways to teach a lesson. I'm a lover of a varied approach whenever applicable. I can honestly say that I will always do my very best to find suitable methods in order to facilitate comprehension and learning.

Over the course of a lesson, I might use audio files, videos, transcripts, books, worksheets or custom-tailored exercises that I feel are best suited for that particular student. Likewise, I will also train conversation - practical or otherwise.

I highly value being kind, patient, modest and encouraging. I always strive to create an environment that fosters a positive feeling. An inviting atmosphere is essential for learning anything at all. I welcome mistakes students make because it's normal to do so, plus that is one of the best ways to learn something properly.

Hi, I am Elmar from Austria. With a great passion for teaching German and English, I have been helping students of different levels worldwide.

 I am a qualified German/Swiss German teacher with seven years of online language teaching experience. Since 1999, in the UK, I have worked in different fields. I started my career as a violinist (Bachelor in Music Pedagogy, Advanced Diploma of Performance), performing as a freelance musician in orchestras (Switzerland) and as a chamber musician, and teaching and preparing young students for ABRSM Grade Exams in the UK. Then, I got into the London film and acting scene and did various supporting gigs at UK Film Studios and on sets in London. In 2017, I trained as a Language Teacher in connection with staying in South Korea, which gave me a new perspective regarding new technologies and online teaching, being geographically independent. In July 2024, I graduated in Law and will be training as a barrister from Sept 2025 - 2027. 

I appreciate being able to communicate with students around the world. I have prepared students for Goethe A2 - C1 exams and Swiss Citizenship Exams, lessons are individually tailored to help students reach their language goals, and we work with German learning books, online videos and texts, media and literature (Easy Readers). There are fewer teaching materials for Swiss German; we use Hoi zäme or voCHabular, both Züridütsch materials or Sali Zäme, Basel dialect. There are also Bern dialect books or song texts, but it's always a bit of a search and mix and match. If you like a clear structure, I suggest you learn German up to about B1/B2 and then try your luck at Swiss German!;)
