Conversational English classes online

Hello — I’m Tim, a professional English teacher from England with five years’ experience teaching online. I trained at International House London, where I gained the Cambridge CELTA qualification, and I’ve worked with students of all levels from a wide range of countries.

I’m also a Spanish learner myself (around B2–C1), so I understand from experience how challenging it can be to learn and use a foreign language in real situations.

My teaching is communicative and practical. Lessons are designed to give you plenty of speaking practice in a relaxed, supportive environment, with clear and focused feedback. Depending on your goals, we can work through a structured course, focus on developing fluency through conversation (particularly at B1+ level), or prepare specifically for IELTS and Cambridge English exams, including Cambridge First (B2) and Cambridge Advanced (C1).

I place particular emphasis on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation that are genuinely useful outside the classroom. I use a range of up-to-date materials — including articles, audio, videos, and modern textbooks — and I adapt lessons to topics that interest you and suit how you learn.

In a trial lesson, we’ll get to know each other, assess your current level, and create a clear, realistic plan to help you make steady, long-term progress.

Hi! I’m Sue and I live in beautiful South Africa.

I’m a TEFL certified English teacher and I specialize in business English, conversational fluency, and pronunciation. I also have about 35 years’ experience in the business sector, including 25 years in education.

Do you lack confidence when you have to speak English? Do you wish you sounded more fluent? Do you have to keep repeating yourself because people can’t understand you? Frustrating, isn’t it?!

I want to help you achieve your English-speaking goals and to feel natural when you speak English. As you become more fluent, you will feel more confident. I want you to feel just like a native English speaker. That’s my goal for you!

I’ve taught hundreds of students – just like you – from beginners to advanced.

I’m a fun and patient teacher and my classroom is a relaxed, safe space where it’s okay to make lots of mistakes, because that's how you learn.

My passion is helping people who struggle with pronunciation – those tricky English sounds that are so difficult to say. Every language has unique challenges and I really believe my techniques can help you. Let me work with you to transform your English!

Learning happens in a fun and positive environment and when we experience language in different ways. I use a variety of learning methods: videos, podcasts, interesting texts, role-plays, real-life conversations and simulations. There’ll be lots of opportunities to practice – to build your speaking skills and your confidence. I’ll teach you tips and techniques that you can use, and I’ll give you practical tools to help you improve your English fluency.

Our trial lesson will be mostly conversational, where we’ll talk about your English goals and what you want to achieve. Then, I’ll create a tailored learning plan. We’ll focus on YOUR unique learning needs and I’ll work with you to help you achieve your goals.

If you'd like only conversational classes, we can do that too!

I believe in patient correction and constructive feedback – so that you know what you’re doing well, and areas you should work on.

In my spare time, I love learning Italian (Yes, I’m a student too!!), so I understand the challenges and frustrations that come with learning a language.

I’m excited to go on this journey with you. Let me help you speak naturally, sound professional, and feel confident.

Book a trial session with me and let’s get started!

Hello, my name is Nicoletta and I am a certified native English tutor from the small island of Cyprus. However, both my parents have British roots and I have grown up speaking English as my primary language. As a person who has always been interested in other countries and cultures, I have embarked on learning new languages myself in the last few years. Most recently Korean! Doing this, I realised how important it is to have someone guide you and support you on your language learning journey. I hope to be that person for you, to aid you and support you with your experience of the English language.

Educational background

My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Psychology in Education. I also have 3 TEFL certifications (120-hour Premier course, Exam preparation, and Business English).

Teaching background

I have been teaching on a variety of online platforms for over 2 years. I have experience working with all ages and varying nationalities. I also have experience preparing students for the IELTS exam, with them receiving scores as high as 8.5.

Teaching methodology

My classes for adults cover:

• Pronunciation
• Comprehension (listening and reading)
• Conversational English (e.g., hobbies, travel, nature, social media, culture, and more.)
• Functional English (e.g., at the supermarket, at the doctor's, at a hotel, at a restaurant, and more.)
• Grammar
• Exam preparation (IELTS and TOEFL)
• Idioms
• Writing
• Business English

My classes for children cover:

• Vocabulary (e.g., daily routines, animals, hobbies, sports, family, jobs, food, emotions, weather, and more).
• Comprehension (listening and reading)
• Pronunciation
• Basic grammar
• Games (e.g., wordsearches, spot the difference, guessing games, and more.)
• Exam preparation (IELTS and TOEFL)

My materials include worksheets, role play, audio recordings, games, videos, and more.

I believe in tailoring each lesson to meet the students needs. I believe that the student is the most important person in any lesson and that the teacher should focus their material on the students’ goals, interests, and aspirations.

Hi, I’m Liz — a native British English speaker and CELTA-qualified teacher with a BA in English Literature. I’ve lived and worked in London for most of my life, and I bring that real-world language experience directly into my lessons.

I have several years of experience teaching English online in personalised 1-to-1 sessions, as well as in-person classes with groups of young learners at UK language camps. My lessons are centred around your goals, your level, and your learning style. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving your speaking confidence, or building a stronger foundation in grammar and vocabulary, I design each lesson specifically for you.

During our trial or first lesson, I’ll take time to understand what you need and create a clear plan to help you make progress. This might include a structured curriculum, guided conversation practice, targeted error correction, or skills-focused tasks.

I use a variety of high-quality materials such as course books, online exercises, authentic articles and short stories, and interactive speaking activities. As a literature graduate, I also enjoy helping students prepare for English Literature exams, both in the UK and internationally — these lessons are always a highlight for me.

My teaching style is supportive, patient and encouraging. I believe that learning is most successful when lessons feel enjoyable, relevant, and achievable. My aim is to help you feel confident using English in real situations, and to guide you through your language goals step by step.

I’d love to support you on your English learning journey — I hope to meet you soon!

Hello! I'm Josh and I'm a TEFL certified native British English speaker from Cambridge in the United Kingdom. I've been working as an English teacher for more than 7 years, and I'm passionate about language learning and teaching. Over the years, I've studied German and Spanish, which has given me an insight into what it's like to learn a foreign language. Also, throughout my teaching career, I've had the privilege of meeting many people from around the world. This experience has allowed me to learn about different cultures, helping me to become a more considerate and open-minded person. Personally, I believe that this is one of the greatest strengths that a teacher of English as a foreign language can have.

What am I like as a teacher?

I'm a disciplined individual with a strong attention to detail. My belief is that everyone has the potential to improve, so I aim to help my students reach their goals by being both encouraging and supportive. Whatever your reason(s) for learning English, my goal is to provide you with the ideal environment in which to improve your language skills. Also, I will do my best to be adaptable by adjusting my teaching style and the focus of our lessons to reflect your needs. Please feel free to let me know how we can make our lessons as effective and productive for you as possible!

What's the style of my lessons?

We'll use a variety of different materials to ensure that you have a well balanced and engaging English learning experience. To help you build confidence and improve your proficiency, we can use resources such as news articles, stories, other texts and videos. Alternatively, we can focus on improving your skills through natural conversation; it’s up to you.

Regarding my teaching style, my priority is to make sure that you feel relaxed by being encouraging and supportive. Furthermore, I'll focus on helping you to correct your mistakes and speak English like a native speaker, which will improve the quality of your English communication. Rest assured that you have no need to be afraid of making mistakes because this will help you to improve your English more quickly.

Finally, if you know how you learn best and want to discuss that with me, I can take your specific learning preferences into account while teaching you. All you have to do is let me know!

Hi! I’m Jackie — a native English speaker from the United States with a passion for learning and teaching languages. I currently live in the rainy but beautiful United Kingdom. ☔🇬🇧

I hold a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) in Modern Foreign Languages and have been teaching both in the classroom and online since 2011. I love helping people from all over the world improve their English, reach their goals, and enjoy the learning process along the way!

I have a warm, friendly teaching style and want you to feel relaxed and confident in my lessons. I truly believe language learning should be fun, motivating, and something you look forward to. Every lesson is tailored to your interests, learning style, and ambitions so you can see real, meaningful progress.

✨ Accent Coaching & Pronunciation Training ✨
If improving your accent and pronunciation is important to you, you’re in the right place! I am a certified Accent Specialist and specialise in helping learners speak more clearly, naturally, and confidently. I create personalised accent training plans that focus on mouth positioning, key English sounds, stress, rhythm, and intonation — so you don’t just learn what to say, but how to say it comfortably and accurately.

In your trial or first lesson, we’ll discuss your specific goals and design a learning plan that suits you. This may include structured lessons with grammar and comprehension, conversational practice for fluency and confidence, exam preparation (IELTS or TOEFL), or targeted pronunciation and accent work.

I use a wide range of engaging materials including presentations, course books, and authentic articles and videos.

Correcting mistakes is an important part of learning, but I always do this in a kind and supportive way — without interrupting your flow or making you feel nervous. After each lesson, I send you detailed notes with key vocabulary, corrections, and guidance so you can continue improving between lessons.

I would love to support you on your English journey and look forward to meeting you!
