Hello — I’m Tim, a professional English teacher from England with five years’ experience teaching online. I trained at International House London, where I gained the Cambridge CELTA qualification, and I’ve worked with students of all levels from a wide range of countries.

I’m also a Spanish learner myself (around B2–C1), so I understand from experience how challenging it can be to learn and use a foreign language in real situations.

My teaching is communicative and practical. Lessons are designed to give you plenty of speaking practice in a relaxed, supportive environment, with clear and focused feedback. I practice a teaching method called oral agility whereby all grammar and vocabulary are taught through speaking exercises. This means modelling words, repeating phrases and conversation exercises.

My name is Vicki and I am a CELTA-qualified English teacher for speakers of other languages. CELTA is the teaching certificate issued by Cambridge University. I have an academic background (a Ph.D. in Social and Political Thought and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Art History and Political Studies). My time at university has developed my understanding and use of the English language to an advanced level. I have taught students from all over the world and of all ages. I am a New Zealander living in Germany, and as a language learner myself (German and Maori), I know how important it is to enjoy the learning process and to feel safe to make mistakes. I am a very friendly and encouraging teacher and I strive to adapt my lessons to my students' specific needs, wants, and interests. I am also always upskilling as a teacher, participating in webinars and further training opportunities whenever possible in order to learn new teaching techniques.
