Hi, I’m Rob, a native English speaking teacher from Canada currently living in Prague, Czech Republic, with 20 years of ESL and university teaching experience. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, including fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading.

My teaching style is relaxed, friendly, and engaging—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students mainly enjoy having conversation, but I also often use videos and texts of various kinds and even songs to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and lessons are individually designed to each student’s level, interests, and requirements.

I’ve taught English in Vietnam and Czech Republic since 2016 and also have 12 years of Canadian university teaching experience in cultural history and in architecture/design. I’m also a writer-artist-designer. I received a professional architecture degree in 1989 and the Trinity College Level 5 English teaching certification in 2019. I’m a native English speaker with an easy-to-understand, neutral Canadian accent.

For the last 2 years, most of my English teaching has been online, though I also enjoy teaching non-virtually. I primarily use and recommend the Zoom platform for online teaching for its reliability, video/sound quality, and support for varieties of teaching resources. Students can use Zoom from their browser or by downloading the app on your computer or phone/tablet (but use of the app on your computer is recommended for the best quality).

Hi, I am Harriet, a native English speaker and qualified teacher.

The lessons are structured around you as an individual and start with finding out what you want to learn or improve and why. We will then agree a plan of fun and challenging activities to help you meet your goals. I teach general conversation skills, including increasing confidence and learning new vocabulary, and Business English. I have helped many students successfully prepare for job interviews or to take on new roles. I can also help you prepare for the language tests.

Do you need to improve your English? I have tried-and-tested methods to help ESL students become more fluent and confident. I have a degree in education, a TEFL/TESL certificate, and an Online Teaching certificate with lots of experience. I have also authored English textbooks and study guides for children in the primary school.

Hello! My name is Josh, and I'm a TEFL-certified, native English tutor with a background in creative writing and theatre. 

I believe language learning should be exciting, not a cause of stress. It's just another mode of expression, after all. It's like learning to paint or to draw, to walk or to dance; it takes some time to master the first few steps, but once a student gets moving through the language, they'll soon find they're able to express their true personality in no time at all. My role is help you through all of those steps, whether you're an advanced student or just starting out, and I do this by creating an learning environment that is completely individualised to you, your learning style and goals. 

I am teaching a variety of students, engaging in conversation practise; practising listening, reading and writing skills; studying grammar; preparing for exams; and even helping students who are interested in taking their creative writing to the next level! I believe in making language learning as immersive as possible. My favourite thing about teaching is meeting people from all over the world with completely different personalities and stories.
