🇨🇦 I am a French-speaking Quebecer and I have been a teacher of French as a Foreign Language for several years. I teach online in different language schools and web platforms. I offer dynamic and playful classes where conversation and fun are the order of the day!

✈️ In addition to teaching, I work in translation, tutoring and responsible tourism. I am a digital nomad and I have been traveling the world for a few years. I am passionate about travel, outdoors, social dancing, cooking, personal development, culture and of course linguistics and learning!

👩🏻‍🏫  My teaching methods are very varied and focused on the practical and participative approach. We will cover grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and linguistic idiosyncrasies which we will practice in conversation activities. 

🎯 My main goal is to create a comfortable and fun environment that helps one gain fluency and confidence with the language. All mistakes are welcome, as they are fundamental to the learning process and an opportunity to learn something new! Whether it's for a trip, a move abroad, a professional project or just personal curiosity, I adapt to the level and needs of each learner.

🗓️ My availability is flexible and variable. For organizational purposes, you will find only one time slot available on my calendar, but I am available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm (EST). My name is Florence. I come from France and I am an experienced French teacher for foreigners, certified by the Alliance Française de Paris and hold a Master’s degree in FLE (french for foreigners) to teach you my mother tongue. I have experience teaching a wide range of adults from all continents and at all levels.

But also ... before starting to teach French full-time and because of a double technical and commercial training, I worked for a long time in marketing and international trade for companies in various sectors of activities: electrical construction, car accessories, shoes… I also created my own business to distribute my creations of costume jewelry.

I’m originally from the East of France, a small town near the Swiss border, and I've been around a lot! I have lived in different regions of France: from North to South, from East to West, from Paris to Nice, from Lyon to Albi. After living in Valparaiso, Chile, I returned to Europe and then settled in Spain for almost 15 years. Today, I live in Alicante with my family.

I hope to meet you very soon and share very pleasant sessions with you. Please note that I made the choice to teach online only to ADULTS.

Of course, I always adapt my method to your individual situation

About me : I was born in Switzerland. My mother tongue is French, which I always speak with my relatives and my friends. I also speak Italian as I grew up in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland (Ticino) and I still live there

I also speak English, a bit of Serbian and Russian

 I come from Nancy in the north-east of France. I lived one year in Spain and  I am living now in Dublin. 

 I studied Performing Art and film studies in France, Spain and in Ireland. I am passionate about travelling, discovering new cultures and art. I recently completed a diploma to teach French to foreigners (DAEFLE- Alliance Française de Paris). I am also an examiner and corrector for the DELF-DALF exam.

I started teaching French part-time 6 years ago when I moved to Dublin. I used to help Irish teenagers to prepare their French exams (Leaving Cert - Junior Cert) and students at the University (preparing oral exams, proof-reading essays).  I have been teaching French online since April 2020 and in person to adults and kids in some languages school since February 2021. 

I teach French to all levels (beginners to advanced) and all ages (kids, teenagers, adults). I can help you to improve your French skills (grammar, vocabulary, French culture, oral fluency) , to prepare your essays, oral presentation, job interview, Delf-Dalf exams  … With  children I usually use a power point to learn basics vocabulary and sentences, and make French games with them. 

I am flexible to your needs, level and way of learning. I use videos and articles based on your interests and encourage practising conversation. I also often relate the lessons to French culture as film, music, news , literature ... I can provide grammar lessons and exercises.

Languages are a passion of mine, I am currently working on language 5 and 6. Because I've been learning other languages  I am very familiar with the difficulties my students can have and which methods are efficient. 

My first objective is for my student to develop the skills to speak and understand French so that they can be independant consulting French content at home. My classes are very relaxed and I try to have a good time while I teach. My classes are tailored to each student's level. 

• For beginners: we work on the elements of the sentence, conjugating verbs, prononciation exercises, we read basic text and we start writing and speaking in French. we also introduce the idea of daily practice.
• For intermediates we work on more advanced grammatical concepts and conjugating with more tenses, we work with audio and written format (about 50/50 technique and practice)
• For advanced students we usually do more conversation based exercises, prior to the class I'll send a podcast, documentary, youtube video, movie extracts and more and the student have to express their thoughts, their critic or commentary on the topic, on my hand I will ask questions to keep the conversation going. We can also do interview prep, review of essays written in French etc.

 I also do give a little bit of homework.

I help, motivate and encourage anyone to have a better understanding, extend knowledge and improve confidence.

My name is Célia, a native French teacher living abroad and working at the Alliance Française. I have graduated of my master of French as a Foreign Language [teaching French to foreigners] in 2020 at the university of Paul-Valéry in Montpellier, and I became a DELF (A1-B2) corrector in 2022. I grew up in a small village next to Montpellier,  I have been living in Northern Ireland, Germany and in Asia.

During my master’s degree, I learned how to create didactic unit (lessons), exams, and how to use the CEFR (common European Framework of Reference for Languages). I have been teaching French online and on-site [international schools and alliance française] from level A1 to level C2, and students of all ages: children, teenagers, and adults. Whether you need some help with preparing an exam, want to build on your knowledge or just want to practice your oral skills, I am more than happy to help you!

During our first class, I will ask you: why you want to learn French, what are your goals, what are your interests, if you want to study one aspect of the language more than another, what is your current level of French etc. Our first conversation during our trial lesson will allow me to get an idea of your level and to prepare a plan for our next lessons. The resources I use are diverse: oral comprehension from the media, text comprehensions [studies of books, articles, extracts of text], grammar exercises etc. The ressources are adapted to your level and your objectives. Most of the resources will be provided to you. I also provide a lesson file and homework for each lesson （- ＾ ▽ ＾ -).

My teaching method is mainly based on communicative and action-oriented approaches. My goal is to involve students as much as possible in their learning, to encourage them to express themselves as much as possible in French in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I am aware that learning a language is not easy. Sometimes you fear making mistakes, but that's part of the learning process. I am here to help you gain self-confidence, encourage you and guide you on this journey of learning a language.

I am passionate about civilization and languages. Likewise, I love to share my culture with foreigners as I get to know theirs. I am sure we can find many interesting topics to discuss and build up your French skills quickly!

I have a Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and FLE (French as a Second Language) and I am Montessori certified.

Yes, it is not always easy, but it is more like a puzzle you build piece by piece.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).
