Originally from Paris, where I trained and taught French to both school students and adult learners,  I also studied in London and worked in Scotland.  I'm currently based in Spain.  I have vast experience in teaching in-person and online.

I am a friendly, positive, patient and adaptable teacher. Lessons are taught in a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. My teaching approach is primarily focused on oral practice. I firmly believe that communication is the key to mastering a language, which is why my lessons are interactive and based on lively, real-life exchanges. Whether through discussions, role-playing, or real-world simulations, I emphasize speaking skills to help you gain fluency and confidence. I have worked with adults, teenagers, and children, adjusting my methods to suit each individual. Teaching younger learners has allowed me to develop fun and creative techniques to make learning French both enjoyable and motivating. 

As an expatriate myself, I understand the challenges of learning a language in an international environment, which allows me to tailor my lessons to the specific needs of each student. Whether you are preparing for an exam, improving your French for work or travel, or simply discovering the French language and culture, I will be there to support and guide you to make quick and effective progress.

During our trial session, we’ll outline your specific goals, level, and aspirations. From there, I’ll craft personalised lessons designed to meet your needs. While I don’t assign homework unless requested, I enjoy keeping in touch with my students by sharing curated French content—videos, podcasts, songs, and more—to complement our sessions and immerse you further in the language.

My teaching style?My approach is relaxed yet effective, blending cultural insights with practical language skills. Together, we’ll explore how French is spoken in daily life, from casual conversations to nuanced expressions used by native speakers. I correct mistakes using the "silent method," which means you can speak freely without interruptions. At the end of each session, I’ll provide feedback and actionable tips to help you improve with each conversation. If you prefer a more formal or structured approach, I’m happy to adapt to your learning style.

A little about me. I’m a native French speaker from Northern France, though my friends like to call me a “woman with a suitcase” because of my love for travel and exploring new places. My journey to teaching wasn’t a traditional one, but I’ve been passionately teaching French for three years now. What inspires me most is seeing my students achieve their goals and grow more confident in their language skills. 

I’m always thinking about new ways to help French learners succeed. Recently, I’ve introduced the idea of French immersion stays, offering a unique opportunity for students to practice the language in a fully immersive environment while experiencing authentic French culture. 

As someone currently learning two other languages myself, I know the joys and challenges of mastering a new language. This shared experience motivates me to create lessons that are practical, engaging, and focused on real progress. 

Hello! My name is Laurent. I'm French, live near Paris and I work there as an engineer. I have always liked to learn languages. I can speak English, Portuguese, French Creole and obviously French. I know how difficult it is to learn a new language. For me, the best way to learn a language is to speak it, to be able to communicate with someone. Together we will practice conversation, reading, writing, listening and pronunciation with different kinds of supports. I can prepare you for the DELF A1,A2,B1 or B2 exam. Hello, my name is Marvin, I am French but I live in Galicia, west of Spain. I have been an online teacher for three years now during which I have given more than 1600 lessons. Also, I am currently finishing my master's degree in didactics to teach French. And before that, I graduated from the Alliance Française to be certified as a professional teacher.

During my lessons, I know how to be flexible to adapt to your needs and your personality. If you want conversation classes, we can discuss freely or prepare the session through an article or any other authentic document and I will bring you the necessary corrections over the course of the exchange. If you are looking to improve a particular language point, my goal will be to expose you to it and help you determine how it works. In addition, thanks to my knowledge of the different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, I can adapt my level of French as well as the topics worked on to each person. My students highlight that I am very patient and also reactive and precise in answering their various questions.

I myself have experience in language learning. I speak English and Spanish at an advanced level, I have some notions of German and Japanese and I am currently learning Galician. I am therefore aware of the different stages in learning a language and I will be able to help you both from my point of view as a teacher and as a student.

Qualifications and experience: 10 years of experience in Scotland and France including 5 years online. Master's degree in History (1st), a French as a foreign language teaching degree (DAEFLE). Accredited DELF-DALF, TEF and TCF examiner.

The classes I offer:     

a- Communication French: to travel and live in France, the French that you need in everyday life situations (going shopping, booking hotels, dealing with administrations etc). Working from examples followed by vocab, grammar and communication practice.

b- Exam prep (DELF-DALF, TEF and TCF): tips on how to prepare yourself and get the best results and practice with marking and feedback.

c- Business French: Studying and practice of business French to learn useful workplace skills (leading a meeting, phone calls, interviews, making a resume etc)

d- Phonetics; I have created a very wide range of resources over the years to make sure you'll polish your accent quickly! 

e- Conversation: about the topics of your choice (using texts and videos as starting point or no). Optional feedback on your vocab, grammar and pronunciation at the end of the class.

I’m 36 years old, was born in Geneva, Switzerland. I’m a native French and English speaker and I’m fluent in Spanish too.

I’ve been teaching French since 2018 and I’ve had students of all AGES, LEVELS and BACKGROUND. In your first class, we will discuss your GOALS and evaluate your LEVEL, so I can prepare a TAILOR-MADE program for you! I provide everything from articles, to grammar, vocabulary, exercises, etc. So all you have to worry about is to SHOW UP and PRACTICE!

I also like to focus on your CONVERSATION skills and help you improve your PRONUNCIATION, with my method you will be talking French in no time! I always come to class PREPARED and with a BIG SMILE !

About me : I was born in Switzerland. My mother tongue is French, which I always speak with my relatives and my friends. I also speak Italian as I grew up in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland (Ticino) and I still live there
