Bonjour!
Iâve been a professional French teacher since 2007. I taught French in various language schools, for big companies and at university. Since 2020, Iâve been teaching exclusively online. These experiences have allowed me to be in contact with different types of students, from children to adults, from beginner to proficiency, for leisure or business purposes or to prepare for the official French certifications (Iâm also a DELF examiner). Therefore, Iâm used to adapt to the needs and learning objectives of my students. This means that I can choose the right teaching material so that we can practice and progress according to your own goals and interests.
Languatalk is perfect to learn a language in a very efficient, funny and motivating way. My teaching method is based on oral communication and pronunciation, which doesnât mean that you wonât learn and practice grammar and structures which are necessary to express oneself properly. Through the material provided such as books, newspapers, videos, you will also be improving your reading and listening skills. We can also work your writing if you need or want to.
See you!

Hello!
I am Chantal, a native French speaker. I also speak English fluently, and I have some knowledge of Spanish. I have been a Certified Secondary School Teacher for 20+ years, and I am still just as passionate about teaching!
Together, we can practice the four skills of language learning: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Having learned two languages myself, I understand how intimidating language classes can sometimes be. Thatâs why I craft your lessons according to your level, and personal needs.Â
I provide the material and tools you need, and I am open to any suggestions in terms of material or topics. I use pictures, videos, songs, articles, and more to make the lessons varied and enriching.
I offer a friendly environment, where you can have fun, Â make mistakes, retry, and learn at your own pace.Â
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I look forward to seeing you in class.

A few years ago, when I was in bed at night and almost ready to sleep, I used to ask myself this question : "Why would people want to learn French? Are they crazy?"
Well... Are you?
It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a clichĂŠ), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). Plus, French is cool and sounds fancy too, so... đ

I've been teaching online since 2016, having in the previous 15 years worked with young people, adults and foreigners of all levels.
In my opinion, enthusiasm, patience, humour and understanding are the keys for efficient learning. I also like to have discussions, and give my students readings and writing exercises.
If you have an intermediate level, we can speak about any topic that interests you. My interests include ecology and self sufficiency, architecture, history, geopolitics, philosophy, Asian food, horses, and nature.

Bonjour a tous!!
Are you planning to move to a French-speaking country? Do you want to improve your language skills? Do you wish to embrace a new culture? I am here to help you, from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the world!
My name is Alizee, I am from Bretagne, France, the land of butter and cider!
I have been a language teacher since 2014. I graduated from the University of Oregon in the US with a Master of arts (French culture and Literature) and then I got a bachelor of Teaching French as a 2nd language from the University of Nantes, France. I started teaching at the University of Oregon as a GTF and it helped me find my path, teaching became a part of my identity and I really found myself thanks to this experience. Afterwards, I started to travel around south east Asia and moved to Vietnam and started teaching English to Vietnamese students. I started teaching French online when I moved to the Philippines in 2019, and have continued since in several countries such as Canada and France.
I provide personalized online classes, based on your level (from A1 to C2), your goals and your interests. Each class will include grammatical introductions/reminders, listening comprehension but most of all speaking practice. If you are planning to take the DELF exam, I can also help! Homework will be provided outside of class to not waste time during the lesson. From daily life situations, to current events and news, we will have a wide range of different topics.
A bientot!

Hi guys! It's Rita here :)
I am an enthusiastic French teacher (I also teach English, Russian, Spanish and German). So, your mother tongue can be any of these languages  as I  speak and teach in all of these languages. Learning grammar is only one part of learning a language, the other part is practicing, and of course having as much fun as possible during the learning process! I work with a book to give your learning a structure. However, I also choose interesting videos, audio files and conversation topics so that you get immersed into the language as much as possible.Â
My focus lies on the right pronunciation, motivating you and showing you that learning a language can be lots of fun. I have lived and worked two years in the South of France and have a German diploma in translation and interpretation for French, German and English. I speak 7 languages and 5 of them fluently. I want to show you that it is possible to learn a new language fast and with fun. I usually need 3-4 weeks in order to speak a new language fluently. How do I do it? Through as much immersion into the language as possible: reading books, comics, watching cartoons, films, YouTube videos, listening to songs, and speaking to natives in real life and online.
My students have a high success rate as I have over 15 years of teaching experience (I started tutoring the younger kids in English when I was at college, and worked as a language coach during my studies). See you soon in class! Sending you lots of good vibes, Rita
See Reviews From StudentsWhether you live in the city centre or the suburbs of Coquitlam, there are many options for learning French. You could use an app or a software program if you're looking to pick up basic vocabulary and learn some grammar rules. Alternatively, you could attend group lessons with French tutors in Coquitlam if you're keen for a social experience. Or, you could take 1-on-1 lessons with a private tutor. This isn't the cheapest way to learn a language but it's possibly the most effective, assuming you have a good tutor. Learning online rather than face-to-face may make private tutors a more affordable option. Check the tutor profiles above to see how much it's likely to cost. Prices vary a lot depending on the tutor, but will usually be cheaper than learning with a French tutor in Coquitlam, face-to-face.
Our research suggests that the average cost for private French lessons in Coquitlam is somewhere between $25-$35 per hour. As online tutors do not need to travel to you and they often live in countries with a lower cost of living, the hourly cost tends to be significantly lower.
If you're really not keen on learning with a teacher via video call, LanguaTalk isn't going to be the right choice for you. You can instead search for a tutor on a local service listing website, or put up an advert in your local area. We do encourage you to give it a try learning online though - you've got nothing to lose as you can book a free trial session. Most people find the experience is as good as learning face-to-face, but with the benefit of having access to better tutors at a lower cost.
Tutors on LanguaTalk sometimes provide lessons locally, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, most tutors are not teaching French in Coquitlam because they're living elsewhere in the world. If you decide to book with a tutor, you should assume that they can only teach you online.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning French online because they think itâll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, youâll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and youâll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
New to LanguaTalk? We'll give you a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If they do not, the price will be just 30 percent of their full lesson price, so you can still try a session at minimal cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in French as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is quite right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for just 30 percent of their full lesson price.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, youâll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the âBuy Lessonsâ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if theyâre for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutorâs full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, youâll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever French tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
On LanguaTalk, you can find exceptional tutors for 1-on-1 French lessons tailored to your goals and learning preferences. Hereâs how to try it for yourself:
1 - Find your ideal tutor by browsing videos, reviews, pricing and availability.
2 - Book a trial. Many tutors offer a 30-minute trial for free; others charge a discounted price.
3 - Take personalised lessons with your new tutor via video call. Or try someone else.
No card is required to book a free trial session. Please only book if you're considering taking lessons. Pricing varies by tutor and you can use the filter to find someone who fits your budget. You can pay one lesson at a time, or buy in bulk for a discount (open a tutor's profile to see their pricing options).
Weâre confident youâll love learning via LanguaTalk. We're trusted by students all over the world because we're transparent. We ask students to rate each lesson, and we display reviews on tutorsâ profiles.
99.8% of lesson ratings are 5 stars. Why? Because unlike other platforms, we accept only the top 10% of tutor applications.
To see our full FAQs or get help from our friendly team, click the 'Help' button in the bottom-right. You can also watch students talking about their experiences learning via LanguaTalk below.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, just check their calendar to make sure that they have available times that fit your schedule. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have a lot of students.
