My name is Magali. As a native French with a background in coaching and vocational training in communication, I’ve been a full time and private French tutor since 2015. I have been helping adults and kids from basic to advanced to enhance their level and confidence. Here are the lessons I offer:

I've been living abroad in another culture and a multicultural environment (Canada, Europe) for over ten years where I can share and nurture my passion for cultures and languages. Hi! I'm Méloée, I am 28 and I've been teaching French since 2015. I was born and grew up in Bretagne (North-West of France), lived for 7 years in Argentina, 2 years in Marseille (in the South of France) and I live now in Barcelona, Spain. I speak French, Spanish and English, and I am also currently learning Portuguese.

I teach to all levels and ages. Conversation classes, to prepare a trip, an exam, to learn from zero, to practice grammar... we'll see together what are your goals and preferences and I'll tailor my lessons to you. 

In my experience the quickest and best way to progress is speaking and practicing a lot, so I always try to include a lot of practice in my lessons. 

For example, a class may start with a text or video (more or less difficult depending on your level) to practice comprehension, then I'll ask you some specific questions about the document to see if you understood well and see the new vocabulary. Then I'll ask more generic questions around the theme of the video/text, so you talk about your opinion on the subject, related experiences... This way, you'll speak a lot and it allows me to identify easily if you may need some theoretical exercises on specific points.

I will always build my classes depending on your needs. If you are confortable using specifics learning methods or material, let me know and we will plan something together.

About me

I graduated in French Literature, Philosophy and History (Université Paris 10), and I hold a M. Sc. in Global Change Management (HNE Eberswalde).

Before I moved to São Paulo, Brazil, I lived five years in Berlin where I started to teach. There I tutored privately and also gave literacy classes in German for young refugees. From May 2017 to September 2017, I did training to be a French teacher and I taught French at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.

At the moment, I work with several language schools in São Paulo (IFESP, Versátil Idiomas, and the French Alliance). I have experience with teaching to all levels and ages. I also have experience in creating didactic material. 

In parallel to my teaching activities, I also have a solid experience with translation work (English, German, Portuguese > French).

Hello, my name is Marvin, I am French but I live in Galicia, west of Spain. I have been an online teacher for three years now during which I have given more than 1600 lessons. Also, I am currently finishing my master's degree in didactics to teach French. And before that, I graduated from the Alliance Française to be certified as a professional teacher.

During my lessons, I know how to be flexible to adapt to your needs and your personality. If you want conversation classes, we can discuss freely or prepare the session through an article or any other authentic document and I will bring you the necessary corrections over the course of the exchange. If you are looking to improve a particular language point, my goal will be to expose you to it and help you determine how it works. In addition, thanks to my knowledge of the different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, I can adapt my level of French as well as the topics worked on to each person. My students highlight that I am very patient and also reactive and precise in answering their various questions.

I myself have experience in language learning. I speak English and Spanish at an advanced level, I have some notions of German and Japanese and I am currently learning Galician. As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).
