Whether it is for receptive skills, that is listening and reading, or productive skills, that is writing and speaking, we use mostly real-life materials, role-plays and games around situations you may or will find yourself into.

It makes it much more stimulating, efficient and useful to you ! You also learn aspects of French culture as we go along.

For advanced students and conversationalists we work around any topics of your choice to consolidate grammatical points, expand and enrich your vocabulary.

I am also a visual artist. My passions are art, travels and nature. But I am very curious to know what yours are… I teach you French and you teach me about things you like !

I was a school teacher in France for 4 years, before moving to Argentina where I taught French for one year. 

Back in France, I have been giving French lessons online for more than two years now.

My method:

- Discuss well at the outset to determine your level, your goals, your interests, what you expect from online courses, in order to prepare a 100% personalized course.

- I rely on different methods for beginners, which I adapt to each student according to their progress. For people who have a more advanced level I like to rely on texts or videos for discussion. If the students wish, I can provide grammar/vocabulary exercises to be done outside the class, in order to devote the time of the lesson to conversation/oral practice. 

- I am listening to you after the course in order to evolve our way of working so that the methodology sticks as much as possible to what you need. 

- I send a summary of the notions studied during the course by e-mail (so no need to take notes during the lesson), for those who wish I can send "homework” to prepare the next course. 

My interests: travel, literature, languages (I am currently learning Spanish and Russian, so I am myself in the position of the learner and I know that it is not always easy!).

I am from the south-west of France.. With a Master's in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), I am deeply passionate about language learning and teaching my native tongue—French!

I am well-versed in the DELF A1-B2 exams and offer lessons focused on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar for casual learners. I have taught French online and in person to learners of all ages. I tailor my lessons to each student's level and goals. My priority is to help you gain confidence and make tangible progress in French.

For the trial lesson

• I will first share a Google Docs document with you. This will allow you to access lesson plans in advance and add your own notes throughout our sessions.
• In the first few minutes, I’ll ask you to introduce yourself and share your expectations for our lessons.
• We will start with simple exercises to assess your comfort level with grammar, reading, listening, and speaking.

If your main focus is speaking, we will engage in various speaking exercises to help you gain confidence in the language. If you're preparing for the DELF exams or any school/university assessments, we will target the areas you feel need the most improvement. And if you're here to learn French in a fun and relaxed way, we can explore any themes or topics that interest you.

My name is Oana Maria and I am a professional language teacher and a Linguist graduated at the University of Bordeaux , France. I am currently living in North Norway. I came here to take a second master on Sami language and culture, and recently I have been working in an alternative school with kids. 

I am an eternal language learner and a nomad at heart. I love getting to know new places, living in different countries and cultures and never stop learning. A few years ago, when I was in bed at night and almost ready to sleep, I used to ask myself this question : "Why would people want to learn French? Are they crazy?"

Well... Are you? 

It definitely takes guts for someone to take the obscure path of French learning, especially when you know that almost no francophone can speak French perfectly. And it is this courageous desire detected in French learners that made me want to start teaching this language three years ago. In fact, besides the syntactic complexity of this language (which, by the way, is most likely to be a cliché), French is a very poetic language, as it allows countless accesses to figurative speeches (so if you tend to be a little sarcastic at times, this might be perfect for you). Plus, French is cool and sounds fancy too, so... 😗

It is always a pleasure to be able to have a fluent conversation (or a heated debate) with students who sometimes started as total beginners and to see them acing their exams.

As for the method, I use trusted manuals and activity books because I believe in structure, but also material that suits your interests and tastes - from literature to popular songs, news to scientific articles, series, and movies (subtitled or not), online resources and grammar exercises. Resources are shared on a Slack group where lessons are summarized, and tasks listed. I can also tailor-make lessons for a specific objective like a job interview or a power point presentation.

Teaching French has been my main activity for several years both privately and at the Alliance Française. I am outgoing and chatty, but homework is not optional (at least if you want to improve fast!).
