Hi there!
My name is Diane, I am from the French-speaking part of Switzerland and I am living in Greece at the moment.
I have been a French teacher for people claiming asylum in Switzerland for more than two years now, therefore I have good material for beginners wanting to start learning French. I have taught to groups of adults from A0 to B1 levels with great results!
Moreover, I have been a tutor on Languatalk for a year now and you can check below the reviews students left if you'd like to know what they think of my classes!
My methodology is quite flexible according to what my students prefer, though I like starting from daily-life situations (going grocery shopping, book an appointment at the doctor's, taking the train...) and elaborating on new vocabulary, grammar rules, verb tenses from that starting point. Reading some French simple texts, listening to French songs and/or playing games in French are also tools that I love using if you are interested in trying this out! I can also give homework if you want to work more on your own, and we can correct them together.
I love music and art in general, as well as reading so it would be my pleasure to introduce you to some of my favorite French-speaking artists!
In addition, I have been learning languages since a very young age and I am currently learning Greek, so I understand the challenges you might face regarding French! Be sure that my classes are a safe and benevolent environnement, designed to make you dare to speak and make mistakes; that's how you'll learn! ;)
I hope to meet you soon!
Diane

Do you need help to learn or get your French to a higher level?
Are you learning French and you need to practice your speaking skills? Would you like to develop or maintain your skills? Are you seeking support in your learning?
My name is Magali. As a native French with a background in coaching and vocational training in communication, I’ve been a full time and private French tutor since 2015. I have been helping adults and kids from basic to advanced to enhance their level and confidence. Here are the lessons I offer:
Patient and creative, I will fit your needs and provide you with a fun and adequate material and environment.
Why am I dedicated to pass on knowledge? Because the more I teach, the more I learn and the better I get, the more I can help! I'm a lifelong learner and teaching has always been part of my life mission.
I’ve lived in Canada (from West to East) for 10 years and I am currently living in Brussels, Belgium. In both countries, I can be immersed in a multicultural environment, which makes me happy and at home. Besides, I love to write, create clay sculptures, paint in watercolour and get into nature as much as I can.
I’m looking forward to meeting you!

I was a school teacher in France for 4 years, before moving to Argentina where I taught French for one year.
Back in France, I have been giving French lessons online for more than two years now.
My method:
- Discuss well at the outset to determine your level, your goals, your interests, what you expect from online courses, in order to prepare a 100% personalized course.
- I rely on different methods for beginners, which I adapt to each student according to their progress. For people who have a more advanced level I like to rely on texts or videos for discussion. If the students wish, I can provide grammar/vocabulary exercises to be done outside the class, in order to devote the time of the lesson to conversation/oral practice.
- I am listening to you after the course in order to evolve our way of working so that the methodology sticks as much as possible to what you need.
- I send a summary of the notions studied during the course by e-mail (so no need to take notes during the lesson), for those who wish I can send "homework” to prepare the next course.
My interests: travel, literature, languages (I am currently learning Spanish and Russian, so I am myself in the position of the learner and I know that it is not always easy!).
I look forward to meeting you and accompanying you in your learning French!

You find French difficult?
You think you are bad at language?
You need to practice without being judged?
You don't get the spelling, the grammar, or the pronunciation?
But what if I told you that everyone can learn a language! We just need to find the method that suits you best. Therefore, and because I believe all students are unique and have specific needs, goals and learning strategies, my teaching style stands somewhere between an intuitive approach and a student-centered method.
I help you improve and reach your goals through engaging activities, interesting conversations and suitable exercises. With me, you learn a practical and useful French updated with common expressions, useful grammar tips, etc. You acquire speaking and understanding skills (and more…) naturally and without forcing for a better integration in the country.
Conversation is at the core of every lesson, and around it, we add various activities and exercise to help you. We do grammar when you require or want it.
Together we create the class that suits you best.
No boring or stressful tasks. I make sure to keep you engaged and motivated.
I don't care if you do little mistakes, as long as you enjoy learning and keep learning! Therefore, I focus on nourishing your motivation and self-confidence. Have no worries, I won't belittle you or make you feel like you are back to school. This class is yours, and we are partners in this adventure!
About me?
Initially I finished my baccalaureate in Literature (2001) but since then life brought me a bit everywhere. I volunteered for various populations (4 years), and graduated in BSSW (2019). Swiss, I call myself a wanderer because my heart got colored with all the beautiful cultures I have encountered on my exotic journey in Europe, Kenya, and Philippines.
Since 2020, I have been blessed with wonderful students from all around the world: more than 150 students from +30 different nationalities. I love my work and the people I meet on the way!

I've been teaching online since 2016, having in the previous 15 years worked with young people, adults and foreigners of all levels.
In my opinion, enthusiasm, patience, humour and understanding are the keys for efficient learning. I also like to have discussions, and give my students readings and writing exercises.
If you have an intermediate level, we can speak about any topic that interests you. My interests include ecology and self sufficiency, architecture, history, geopolitics, philosophy, Asian food, horses, and nature.

Hello my name is teacher Sussu and I am so happy to meet you.
I am an experienced teacher with more than 17 years of experience.
I have a Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and FLE (French as a Second Language) and I am Montessori certified.
I believe that learning a new language should be fun and exciting.
Yes, it is not always easy, but it is more like a puzzle you build piece by piece.
I always start where you are and offer new ways to use and expand what you already know.
My priority in class is to make sure my students speak and relax.
The more relaxed, the more confident you will be. The more daring, the more you will see that it is okay to make mistakes and try again.
I will always challenge you to reach higher, to add one step and then another step in your language journey. And then, you will have fun doing so.
Plus, I match my classes to your interests and goals.
So what do you think?
Are you ready to book a trial with me?
I promise to always be patient and kind.
I hope to see you soon.
Until then...

I graduated in French Literature, Philosophy and History (Université Paris 10), and I hold a M. Sc. in Global Change Management (HNE Eberswalde).
Before I moved to São Paulo, Brazil, I lived five years in Berlin where I started to teach. There I tutored privately and also gave literacy classes in German for young refugees. From May 2017 to September 2017, I did training to be a French teacher and I taught French at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.
At the moment, I work with several language schools in São Paulo (IFESP, Versátil Idiomas, and the French Alliance). I have experience with teaching to all levels and ages. I also have experience in creating didactic material.
In parallel to my teaching activities, I also have a solid experience with translation work (English, German, Portuguese > French).

Hi, my name is Farid. Teaching French is something I really enjoy, especially when I witness my students progressing in the language and towards their goals. I have been teaching French for almost 4 years now. My students are children, teenagers and adults of all ages and levels. My lessons are usually customized to meet the needs of the students. I use different materials to teach my students; like comprehension texts, dialogues, stories, vocab materials, games..etc.. I have obtained a Level 7 Diploma in Teaching skills and I also hold a DBS check up-to-date.
In 2010, I left my birth country France to move to the United Kingdom. I am currently in Algeria for a few months, as I wanted to (re)discover my parents country. I love travelling and discovering new cultures and languages. I also speak a little Arabic.
Book now a trial with me to set the goals you want to achieve. As a French native, I can help you to improve your pronunciation in addition to the grammar. I have been living in the UK for 12 years which made me fully bilingual. With a bit of motivation and a hint of work, your French will upgrade in no time!
See Reviews From StudentsWhether you live in the city centre or the suburbs of Sydney, there are many options for learning French. You could use an app or a software program if you're looking to pick up basic vocabulary and learn some grammar rules. Alternatively, you could attend group lessons with French tutors in Sydney if you're keen for a social experience. Or, you could take 1-on-1 lessons with a private tutor. This isn't the cheapest way to learn a language but it's possibly the most effective, assuming you have a good tutor. Learning online rather than face-to-face may make private tutors a more affordable option. Check the tutor profiles above to see how much it's likely to cost. Prices vary a lot depending on the tutor, but will usually be cheaper than learning with a French tutor in Sydney, face-to-face.
If you're really not keen on learning with a teacher via video call, LanguaTalk isn't going to be the right choice for you. You can instead search for a tutor on a local service listing website, or put up an advert in your local area. We do encourage you to give it a try learning online though - you've got nothing to lose as you can book a free trial session. Most people find the experience is as good as learning face-to-face, but with the benefit of having access to better tutors at a lower cost.
Sometimes students tell us that they're not sure about learning French online because they think it’ll be completely different to learning face-to-face. But usually when they try it, they find that the experience is almost the same and they often build a solid relationship with their tutor.
Once you start a video call with your chosen tutor, you’ll be able to communicate with them as if you were in the same room. The tutor will typically also share learning resources with you (newspaper articles, YouTube, etc.) and you’ll be able to collaborate in real-time using a tool like Google Docs or Dropbox Paper.
Our research suggests that the average cost for private French lessons in Sydney is somewhere between $25-$35 per hour. As online tutors do not need to travel to you and they often live in countries with a lower cost of living, the hourly cost tends to be significantly lower.
Tutors on LanguaTalk sometimes provide lessons locally, but most only provide online lessons as it is more convenient and allows them to work from home. In addition, most tutors are not teaching French in Sydney because they're living elsewhere in the world. If you decide to book with a tutor, you should assume that they can only teach you online.
The beauty of taking lessons online is that you can learn anytime, anywhere. When you choose a tutor, just check their calendar to make sure that they have available times that fit your schedule. Some tutors have limited availability as they already have a lot of students.
On LanguaTalk, you can find exceptional tutors for 1-on-1 French lessons tailored to your goals and learning preferences. Here’s how to try it for yourself:
1 - Find your ideal tutor by browsing videos, reviews, pricing and availability.
2 - Book a trial. Many tutors offer a 30-minute trial for free; others charge a discounted price.
3 - Take personalised lessons with your new tutor via video call. Or try someone else.
No card is required to book a free trial session. Please only book if you're considering taking lessons. Pricing varies by tutor and you can use the filter to find someone who fits your budget. You can pay one lesson at a time, or buy in bulk for a discount (open a tutor's profile to see their pricing options).
We’re confident you’ll love learning via LanguaTalk. We're trusted by students all over the world because we're transparent. We ask students to rate each lesson, and we display reviews on tutors’ profiles.
99.8% of lesson ratings are 5 stars. Why? Because unlike other platforms, we accept only the top 10% of tutor applications.
To see our full FAQs or get help from our friendly team, click the 'Help' button in the bottom-right. You can also watch students talking about their experiences learning via LanguaTalk below.
The vast majority of students take 55-minute lessons. But some tutors also provide the option of 30-minute lessons. If they do, you’ll see this noted on their profile (below their pricing and above the ‘Buy Lessons’ button).
55-minute lessons are recommended for most students. In general, we only suggest considering 30-minute lessons if they’re for your child, or you have an intermediate level and only want conversation practice.
New to LanguaTalk? We'll give you a credit for a free trial session. Many, but not all, tutors offer these for free. If they do not, the price will be just 30 percent of their full lesson price, so you can still try a session at minimal cost.
Trial sessions last 30 minutes. They allow you to assess whether the tutor is a good fit for you, and get a feel for learning online. The tutor will assess your level and aim to understand your needs and interests so that they can customise any lessons you decide to take. You'll be encouraged to speak in French as much as possible, but of course you can speak in English too!
If, after your trial session, you don't feel that the tutor is quite right for you, you can book a trial with another tutor for just 30 percent of their full lesson price.
Lessons are taught 1-on-1 so that you receive your tutor’s full attention and can make fast progress. Communicating via video call, you’ll be able to talk to your tutor and share learning materials as if you were in the same room.
The tutors vary in terms of their teaching methods, resources, experiences, and personalities. So we suggest you look at several profiles to choose the best tutor for you. Whichever French tutor you pick, they'll aim to tailor the lessons to your individual needs.
