Hello ! My name is Charlotte, from France. Learning languages is a passion of mine, along with many others :-) I welcome everyone to come and learn with me; whatever your current level, I’ll be very happy to help you gain more fluency in French. I’m very patient and will provide a cheerful and safe environment where you can talk without any stress or fear of being judged. I try to stick to French as much as possible during the lessons in order to build up your confidence about being able to navigate through your new language. 

I believe in helping you master French as it is spoken/written by actual French-speaking people, not textbooks. This means adapting the material and language level to the situation. Indeed, we don’t usually speak in daily life the way a journalist does on the news. And we don’t write a formal report as we would an email to a friend. So knowing your goals and why you are learning French is essential.

About Me

I hold degrees in French Literature, Philosophy, and History from Université Paris 10, along with a Master of Science in Global Change Management from HNE Eberswalde.

Before settling in São Paulo, Brazil, I lived and worked in Berlin for five years, where I began teaching languages through private tutoring and literacy classes for young refugees. In 2017, I completed a French language teaching certification and went on to teach at the Technical University of Berlin for three semesters.

Today, I work with a range of language schools in São Paulo, including IFESP, Versátil Idiomas, and the Alliance Française. I have experience teaching students of all ages and levels, and I regularly design personalized learning materials to meet their goals.

Alongside teaching, I work as a translator, with professional experience translating from English, German, and Portuguese into French.

According to your level (starter or advanced), I adapt my method as following:

Starters : I use a particular book that helps you to work on all the aspects of the language at the same time (phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, reading) and helps structuring the courses

Advanced : I practice conversation with you about more or less complex subjects to increase your vocabulary and to correct the remaining imperfections

Of course, I always adapt my method to your individual situation

About me : I was born in Switzerland. My mother tongue is French, which I always speak with my relatives and my friends. I also speak Italian as I grew up in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland (Ticino) and I still live there

I also speak English, a bit of Serbian and Russian

Originally from Paris, where I trained and taught French to both school students and adult learners,  I also studied in London and worked in Scotland.  I'm currently based in Spain.  I have vast experience in teaching in-person and online.

 For intermediates : We will work on what you miss thanks to various supports. Every correction is written down and sent to you after class. 

For beginners : Each session comes with a power point, a summary of the vocabulary learnt and possibly a recording. 

All courses are based on spoken communication. I will allow and encourage you to express yourself on various subjects to increase your speaking abilities and confidence. I spot your weaknesses to bring your language competences to the next level.  I adapt to your requests and your need !
